Queen's finished up with the third best average home attendance in the Third Division: East Fife had a little more and, not surprisingly, Morton were clear in first place. What is notable is how, for the second match at home against each team, the crowds have tended to be significantly larger. One major factor in this is the frozen pitches which afflict other clubs in winter but not Queen's, meaning games at Hampden are some of the only ones to go ahead; another is the winter shutdown in the SPL. Our average home crowd was larger than our away one, despite the excellent numbers that travelled to other grounds in support of Queen's.
Below estimated travelling support figures can be found.
Scottish Cup
2nd Round: Albion Rovers ( h )      1,117
Replay:         Albion Rovers ( a )        404  ( est. away support: 120 )
3rd Round: Hamilton Academical ( h )    1,362
Replay:        Hamilton Academical ( a )    887  ( away support: 174 )
Both home games saw the biggest Scottish Cup crowds for Queen's games at Hampden in a while. Hamilton probably contributed roughly 500 to the crowd for the third round tie, and about 100 Rovers fans were at the second round game.
League Cup

1st Round: East Stirling ( h )    457
2nd Round: Dundee United ( a )  3,600
Bell's Cup

1st Round: Gretna ( h )  607
2nd Round: Forfar ( a )  384
3rd Round: Berwick ( a )  407
Semi-Final: Brechin ( h )  1,214
The League Cup tie against Shire had a slightly reduced crowd owing to the earlier kick-off. Around 150-200 Queen's fans were at Tannadice, a support enlarged by some members of the club's youth sides.
The Bell's Cup run will long be recalled, but the two away games had two of our smallest travelling supports this season. Around 50-60 were at Berwick for a fantastic win, and while I wasn't at the Forfar game I believe a similar number attended. Our first semi-final in a national competition for 74 years brought out more than twelve hundred to Hampden for a remarkable game: this included about 400 Brechin supporters.
Here now are estimates of the number of fans Queen's have taken to their away league games this season.
