| Main Page | Shearer, against his manager's best wishes, had started to come up for set pieces in the dying moments of the game. In what looked to be Rovers' last corner, the keeper sped up in to the busy Queen's penalty box. The ball never reached him, however, and the ball was cleared, but only as far as the half-way line. At that point, it would have made perfect sense for the referee to blow for full-time, but another two minutes were added on seemingly out of nothing. Almost inevitably, Albion scored and stole a point. A superb corner was launched into a forest of bodies and it was Shearer, the daring goalkeeper, who got some sort of body part on the end of a cross to scramble an equaliser. Ludicrously, the game still continued after the restart, but Hardie finally saw sense and called it a night. Queen's can take a lot of heart from that performance, but hopefully the match didn't take too much out of them as they now have to face Hamilton on Monday night. Brannigan's men fought bravely in an exciting match marred by lousy officiating.
