ALLEZ LES HOOPS
Another draw between the two sides only caused more frustration for East Fife, on the lookout for promotion, and Queen's Park, who would argue that they deserved all three points. The game itself wasn't too great, and neither team could grasp any real attempts on goal from open play in the second-half. Willie Martin could have, and probably should have, been the difference between the two sides going into the interval, but two of his shots were dealt with well by East Fife's Butter.
Charlie Richmond, the match's referee, caused more heartbreak for Queen's fans as he awarded a dubious penalty with a little over 15 minutes remaining. Kenny Deuchar was supposedly fouled by Agostini and the same player converted the spot-kick to level the score. 3 minutes previously, Steven Moffat scored a deflected free-kick to give Queen's the lead. Ironically enough, it was Richmond who denied Queen's three points when he awarded Gretna a penalty in the final minute the last time the two teams played. Needless to say, he is probably the most unpopular referee in every QP fan's eyes.
Overall, a draw was probably a fair result, as neither side were a consistent threat up-front. Paul Martin's excellent run is still intact and there was nothing for the caretaker boss to be ashamed of in his side's draw. It is likely that he will leave in the coming weeks, but the Queen's Park board are certainly taking their time appointing a new manager.

Colin Stewart : 6 Typically untested, the big man only had to deal with a few dodgy crosses and was helpless for the penalty that was perfectly converted. The only concern is that his loan contract expires at the new-year and it remains to be seen whether it will be renewed or not. Tony Mitchell is a more that worthy replacement, but losing Colin would be a blow regardless.

Richard Sinclair: 6 Played with his usual enthusiasm, but failed to penetrate the wings that were well covered by the Fife defence. Replaced by Gordon Lappin (5).

Danny Ferry : 6 Looked uncomfortable on the left side and at times strayed over to the right. Losing Steven Canning is a blow that will take some repairing and a defensive replacement is not currently available at the club. It looks as though Ferry will be covering the left for some time yet.

Steven Moffat: 8 Defended will once again, and did his best to break from the back using his excellent passing and dribbling techniques. Scored from a free-kick to maintain his honour of being Queen's top scorer. Invaluable.

Damiano Agostini: 8 Conceded the penalty, but played with more physicality that ever before. He is a clean player, but he certainly knows how to defend using his large frame.

Steven Fallon: 7 Another good game from the ex-Arbroath man. Cool under pressure.

Willie Martin : 7 On the form of his life, and was unlucky not to score in the first-half. Veteran goalkeeper Jim Butter denied the youngster on two notable occasions. Replaced by Allan Dunning ( 5 ) in the last minute.

Johnny Whelan: 7
Showed again that he is essential in the absence of Tony Quinn. Johnny is certainly an uncompromising and brave player with a real talent that at times shone through.

James Allan:
7 Perhaps nervous playing against his old club, Jimmy couldn't get into the game in the first half, but played better in the second. He is one of the best footballers at the club and in the division, but he struggled to find some of that old magic in his boots in Fife.

John Gemmell:
6 Disappointing, especially after last week's hat-trick. Didn't win enough in the air or on the ground.

Ross Clark: 6
Ross is a decent footballer who is currently struggling to fully fit-in to the side. I wish him the best of luck in the team in the future.

Match Rating:
