Household for Her Majesty
Queen Elizabeth 1
As portrayed by St. Elizabeth's Guilde

What role does the Queen's Household play in St. Elizabeth's Guilde?

The Queen's Household as portrayed by St. Elizabeth's Guilde actors is an integral part of the group much as they were during Elizabeth's reign. Our household performs many vital tasks during the day at faire in addition to acting. Perhaps one of their most important tasks is that of making sure that wherever the court goes the nobles have "adams ale" (water) to drink. Since the court is always on the move it is likely that you will also always see a livery clad Household member with them. Whether it is Progress, Stage Show, Shopping Trip or Guilde Visitations the Queen's Household is always there.

The household is also responsible for preparing the food to be served to the Queen and the court during Glade Stop. During Glade Stop the Household also has a chance to help entertain Her Majesty telling stories or putting on a play.

Often times at faire the Household has "game time" in the morning when the faire first opens. The games can range from a simple game of croquet to a more complex game of blind man's bluff which usually includes patrons of the faire.

The Queen's Household is also important because next to the Ladies of Her Majesty's chamber they are the closest to the Queen and always know what is going on at court. Many nobles will bribe the Household members with jewlery or money to try and find out what is going on with Her Majesty or to get the Household to "spy" on other people in the court. Of course it is in every nobles best interest to be nice to Her Majesty's household, after all if they were to be cross with you who knows what may find it's way into your food...
