Although she doesn't do a lot of singing, Electra is often at the forefront of the group dances. In London brochures, it is not uncommon to see her in the first or second row of the group in Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats, or the Jellicle Ball. Electra is often one of the strongest female dancers. She has to be! The actress who is Electra often understudies the roll of Victoria. Unfortunately, her status as a "chorus kitten" sometimes causes Electra to be noticeably absent when a cast is short on females.
As with many of the chorus kittens, Electra is not found in all productions. She is found in London, Norway, the CATS Video, the Australian Runaway Tour (although I have yet to find pictures of her from that production), and in numerous "non-official" high school, college, and amature group performances.
Not being a main character, Electra is understudied by swing actresses, and will not be present at all if there are is a shortage of female cast memebers for principle characters.
Generally a quiet kitten, Electra normally sticks to the background, as do many non-"main" characters. Her main spots in the show are:
Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats, when she sings "with book and with bell" with Admetus (in London) or solo in the Video.
One of Jennyanydots' mice and one of the Beetles' Tatoo in The Old Gumbie Cat
A member of the "Tugger Fan Club" in The Rum Tum Tugger
A Pug/Pom in The Awful Battle of the Pekes and the Policles
One of the Siamese crew in Growltiger's Last Stand
The naughty kitten (in London and the Video) who bumps Cassandra out of place in Skimbleshanks: The Railway Cat
One of the background dancers in Macavity
One of the two kittens (Etcetera being the other one) in London who get "frozen" by Mistoffelees in Mr. Mistoffelees
