| Here are some pictures of my first
RPL project. I started by making the Poinsettia
flowers for the "Petals" of the
tablecloth. Then I made the Center RPL and did the
filling stitches. Then I laid out the flowers and the center
and measured the shape that I wanted and drew it out
on the fabric base. Then I basted the cording to the
fabric and the flowers as well. The next step of
course was filling in between all the cords. I used
an Irish crochet filling stitch to fill in the
"Petals" and around the center. When I got
close to the "Petals," I changed to a
plain filling stitch. After I finished all the
stitching, I removed my basting stitches and
starched the piece flat. This was a special gift for
my Mother for Christmas 2005. I barely finished in
time and was very happy when I did. It took me 3-4
months to make this and it would have taken a lot
less if I had worked straight through instead of a
little at a time.

This is the Center.

A closer look at the Center and
most of tablecloth. Much larger Pic.

Close up on one of the
"Petals." Also big Pic. |
