     ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Red.
Red and black
The colours of Hell
Where I belong
I do not belong here
I am unwanted
Unloved
In Hell, I have a place
I will sit by the side of the Devil himself
I will be his favorite pet
His favorite toy
In Hell, I have a future
There is no love here,
Only the sweet call of Lust and Power
I am Opal.

"Help! I can't move!!!"
My lips quirked in amusement as their screams displayed before me. Yet not me. It felt as if I was watching from afar, in a mind not my own. Yet everything I felt was real. Delicious.

And at the same time I could feel what I knew to be real. The ringing of the school bell. The pouring of bodies around me in their daily rush to class. Withering their days away. My friends chatting and being the boring people they were by playing cards. Tara, my best friend, stealing my spoon and Nutella. I was spilt between these two visions.

"Are you pleased Opal?" The man beside me said with a smirk, standing behind me without touching. I knew that voice.

A cold smile touched my dark lips as I watched. "Very." Another presence was spoke in that voice. Dark and powerful. Strong.

Again, my attention diverted.

"Hey Necie, you don't usually let me take this for so long. Anything wrong?" Tara's hand waved the Nutella bottle in my face. I couldn't get my body to move. In fact, that scene seemed far away. Fading into a somewhat welcome darkness.

A rush of knowledge hit me. Opal. My name or, her name was Opal. This person was me.

"How the hell?!" Voices exclaimed in front of me. I registered names to match the agonised faces. I took pleasure in that agony.

I watched as the group were paralysed, Masters of Thunder, Water and Wind's eyes glowing in a pitiful attempt to attack. The others there needed the use of physical fighting. But they were no match against Opal's top sorcerers.

"Is THIS why you came back Catsyile!? So you can betray us?!" Nando, Master of Thunder. Her voice shouted angrily towards Catsyile, Master of Water.

A shadow of a smile lifted my lips again, were they truly mine? Or Opal's?

"I DIDN'T KNOW!!!" Catsyile's body liquefied, no longer a being of blood and flesh, evaporating into the air.

I watched as Jinga trailed Catsyile with her eyes, calculating, and ruthless. Moments later, the Master of Mimic liquefied, turning to mist, shooting after her enemy.

"And they were doing so well." The man beside me lifted his hands to my shoulders, never touching without my permission, his hands moving centimetres from the skin in an almost caress.

"If they fail, then let them die." Again, the smile lit my black lips. I knew they were black, but without the lipstick I usually favoured. Somehow, these lips were black by nature, as black as what was left of Opal's heart.

The swirling portal of blood which I watched this expanded, changing as it followed the battle. The mists formed into dragon-like shapes, one after the other, one a sheer tower of water, the other a dark mist that wasn't quite as pure, or as good. The two crashed against each other, circling to an apex and colliding again with a crashing roar of power.

"Stop it." I heard the mental command that came from the man named Xas. Haydz? His body glowed silver as the call screamed through the air, shaking those Opal commanded. His Mind power sent a purge through their minds, I could see it in the way they stumbled in the sky, both the male and female, hands reaching to touch their foreheads. As Jinga's dragon exploded in mist, reforming, a dark shadow of the girl I knew with the ellipse of bat wings protruding from her back.

What is going on?

Confusing...my mind was blurring. What I was thinking...was it me, Necie, or Opal? Memories, sounds of things I knew, battering against the information slamming into my mind, Necie and at the same time, the person named Opal.

Necie. I was Necie dammit! Eunice!

I saw through pupiless black eyes as one of the figures in the sky glowed. The female there. Lightning from the sky revealed her face.

Shock reeled through my mind.

Vivian?

Her body glowed in dull silver, the same aura I knew Xas possessed, eyes of dark brown glinting amber between wisps of hair. The glow spread through out the woman's body, revealing short hair, lifting in the wind, long robes of metallic grey and black trailed down her form, exposing her shoulders, waist and legs when the long draping cloak spread away from her. The inner layers were armour like in appearance.

Another painful jab into my mind as memories flooded. My reality shattered into this one as each memory passed and stored with an ache that brought strange pleasure to this body. Opal's body.

The portal shifted again. Both figures of silver battling against each other, fighting with their minds, mental powers coursing through the other in an attempt to bring them to their knees or leave their mind useless.

Why are they fighting!?

The other shadow in the sky was the key to their downfall. The key that held all of the others in their place, unable to move, unable to do anything to stop their capture.

All these thoughts in my head kept coming against my will, against my control. What was this? Wasn't I supposed to be in school?!

"They will fall." The man behind me stated, and I could feel his breath on my ears.

A smile lit my dark lips. I could feel them move and yet I didn't move them.

"Perhaps." I could see Xas weakening, his power took too much concentration and strength to maintain. And he couldn't move to do anything if Vivian should attack.

No. Not Vivian. Her name was just Viv here.

The Healer. Imrhien. Angelina. Glowing as well, standing beside Xas, enforcing, twisting the hold on her blood and using her power to refresh Xas in the process.

Blood. Yes, that was what held them there. Slayer.

Who is he? I knew he was the one who was creating this portal I was seeing through, this portal made of the swirling crimson liquid of his power. That was all I could gather from the rush of thoughts.

It was all a blur. Just what was this? This isn't me! I wouldn't do this! Sure I like to be mean once in a while but killing my friends?

Thoughts came and went in a blur.

Slayer. Why do I know him? I can feel it! I saw him.

The man floated in the air above the group on a disc of dark liquid, his face hidden beneath locks of dark hair, crimson as the power he held. Red eyes glowed coupled with a haunting mouth that smirked, his hand clasping into a fist.  There was no mistaking who he was.

I wondered why he was here. My god-brother. Desmond. Dez. The twerpy little kid who was a year younger than me, so unlike the man that floated there. His hands raised, locking together and spreading apart. But now a cone of blood floated between his hands, swirling. I could see his mouth open in a yell as he threw it down to the island below.

Dark liquid spread beneath Opal's enemies on that island, those paralyzed on the ground by Viv.

They screamed as they sunk into it.

I was horrified yet excited. Horrified to see this happen to those I knew to be friends. Excited to cut them down. Watching them...My mind was hit with a wall of confusion. What's happening to me?  Where was I? Erratic thoughts rang through my mind, all of them questions. Something answered in my mind, knowledge that I had no control of, feelings that I didnt feel. An answering whisper of darkness called within me, overridden as the screams of uncertainty ran in my head.

I could not move or react as the faces of my friends, contorted in anger and shock as they were sucked into the ground, disappearing beneath the waves of crimson liquid with breathless gurgles. Only Xas still stood, his eyes searing silver, glaring into the sky at the two figures standing there, his feet floating above the dark liquid in sheer will, Imrhien gone into the dark waves beneath his feet. Catsyile, the other of their team hung in the sky, battling ferociously against Jinga. I knew the plan that was being carried out. Deception. Control. Both physically and mentally.

I saw both Xas and Viv's eyes glow a dark hue of silver, almost grey in the female's eyes.

"Shut up." The mental thought that carried even through the portal was like a lash of a whip, an end to a conversation none of us could hear, slashing against the mental command that Xas struck out, making him stagger, feet skimming the surface of the crimson sea below. Tendrils hooked around his leg, making him wince in pain. Pain that sent a chill of pleasure up my spine.

The man behind me spoke into my ear, his hot breath invoking a sudden reaction in the body where I could only watched as everything slipped away in surrealism, my friends, my world, my reality.

"Command, my Mistress, he spoke, Command them as only you can." Again that feeling of not quite touch, though the intent behind his voice was more than intimate. It kinda pissed me off. Who was this guy?

A sudden dome spread and enveloped the whole island shown in the portal, cutting off all inside, including Catsyile. With a sick ripple, it collapsed upon itself, and sunk away into the ground. The island was once more empty, and the skies cleared. They were coming here. I could fell their passage through this power inside me.

I turned away as the portal went solid and glanced over my shoulder at the man standing there, close but not touching. "Hmph. Don't think you can command me Bui. You may have my affection in bed, but it is I that rule over you." I heard myself say.

What a minute...

BUI!?!?!

HIM!?!?!?

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING!!!

I watched in horror as his face was revealed to me to be the geekish guy I knew, adding a bandana. A solid wave of disgust shot through my mind, though somehow, to my body, his closeness was anticipation, excitement. The feeling of horror could only grow in my mind as I watched my lips came closer to his, unable to be stopped by me! The sudden sensation of his hands sending a  ripple of physical pleasure down my bare shoulders as his hands travelled over them.  //Oh dear god, am I going to KISS the freak?// My urge to scream was stopped by his lips. I felt a strange mixture of pleasure and disgust at the same time.

I had no control over Opal's body. None at all!

This was not good.

There was a zing of pleasure coupled with the urgent need to gag as his tongue slipped into my mouth. Was I...ENJOYING THIS!?!

I felt myself return the kiss with a punishing movement of my lips, a cruel kiss though his fervour responded in an almost moan. In a sudden movement, my teeth bit down on his tongue, drawing blood, the taste of copper surprisingly sweet. I felt myself pull back, licking his blood off my lips.

"Hn." My lips smiled again seeing the haunting yellow of his eyes as he smirked back at me.

A golden metal glove I realised was on his left hand as the weapon reached out to stroke my cheek. "Does my blood excite you like you do me?"

Inside, I was on the verge of throwing up. Opal's eyes turned away to look back at the solid  vortex of blood that floated there. Somehow I knew that was where they would appear. My friends who are my enemies in this world.

In a tumbled heap they exploded with a mass of blood on the black marble, the vortex pulling out of existence behind them, draining the liquid from the prestine marble. Guards immediately surrounded them, clasping collars onto their necks.

"You did well Slayer."

The boy I saw was definitely Dez. But he wasn't a boy here. But not quite a man. He did look like a murderer. The chilling smile and bow he gave me now made me feel a slight sense of satisfaction. Or was that Opal again? I didn't know anymore. Were all these things I felt mine? Obviously not in Bui's case, but...

"Opal..." It was Catherine, no Catsyile that hissed this in hatred. Her eyes liquidated for a moment. "Why have you brought us here?"

Even if it was my choice, I couldn't answer. Every fibre of my being told me these were my friends! Anita, Jocelyn, Catherine, Nandini, Cathy, Bibi, Jennifer and...well Haydz wasn't really.

Bui left my side, his armoured hand cupping Anita, no, Alita's chin, his face mocking. "So we meet again Battle Angel."

"Shove it."

I saw her spit at his armoured glove and almost smiled. If I had any control of this body at all.

Bui drew back with a look of disgust. "Charming as always I see."

"Mistress, your orders?" Jinga bowed ceremoniously to me.

My lips drew higher in a smile. "Kill them."

//What?//

"As you wish."

//No!!!// I felt something stir inside me as Bui's smirk widened, the claws on his hand glinting above Alita's face.

"Stop." Came a very familiar drawl.

The space beside me swirled, bright a tear of pure light. From its depths came a body, followed by long strands of blonde, almost platinum hair. I recognised her immediately as a feeling of sudden relief spread through my mind just with her presence.

Tara. Harley.

She turned to me with a conspiratory look. "I want to play." Harlequinn, my partner in this world as well as my own glared down at the group standing slightly below us. "Lock them up with the Change twit. Catsyile will remain here." The last was said with malice.

"What do you plan to do with us?!" One of them yelled, the Master of Thunder. Nando.

"Plan? We plan to crush you. Do you realise how easily we captured you? Three of mine against so many of you and all of you were helpless. Pathetic. We've tired of you. So now you will die." I heard myself say, striding up and leaning down to their eye level.

"But not before we've had our fun." Harley added her smile only mirroring my own.

//How...how can this be? I DON'T WANT THEM TO DIE!!!//

My thoughts echoed in my own mind. But it wasn't my mind. It was hers. Opal's.

Something stirred to awareness in my mind, uncoiling like a snake of pure hatred and despair. Something that wasnt mine, and only drove me toward the darkness that was Opal.

     ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

"You bitches." Catsyile spat, her lips already bruised and bleeding from Harlequinn's blows. The collar completely blocked her magic, and her physical strength was pretty much drained.

Another grounding slap sounded in the throne room.

I couldn't do anything as I watched Catherine get beaten by Tara. And strangely I felt nothing. Even worse, I felt satisfaction. My vision turned to address the sitting form in the corner.

Dark hair spread over a marble stage where she kneeled, robes fanned out, shimmering in their pale purple light. Intricate designs echoed on both robes and her forehead, framed with long bangs with even longer hair. Eyes of opaque purple stared into oblivion. And through it all I could still see it was Cherry. The cheerful girl who spoke mainly in Cantonese even though it was an English school, who had enough energy to bounce all over the playground and scab food...though I did that too.

Here, she was...The Seer.

"Skye." Her name commanded by my lips. Her eyes focused on me. Immediately her two closest kin stood next to her. The three Destroyers.

Identify- Skye, The Seer.

Seek.-Viv, Telepath and Telekinetic. Vivian.

Destroy- Jinga, Master of Mimic.

All of them looked so different yet the same. All three with menacing smiles on their faces as they bowed to me.

A resounding thump of bone on flesh echoed followed by Catsyile's muffled cries.

I felt a frown tug at my lips. "Seer, tell me what you have seen."

Skye's eyes shimmered. "There is another. Another world of Blackstar." Her voice was less quip than I was used to. No 'Yeah man, or la...or loh' at the end of sentences was strange for Cherry.

"There is no such world." Catsyile's voice broke through disbelievingly.

"There is. Those from this other world have past already into ours. They stand among us. A parallel that is free of the power in Blackstar. Ready for the taking...la."

There it was.

I felt something pull in my mind.

*A fresh world...*

The mental voice sang with excitement, dark like the scream of banshees and the very essence of destruction in mental thought. Evil that rung with power. And it wasn't me. Sudden fear struck me. That wasn't my thought! Yet I heard it as if the words were spoken aloud. I concentrated on that presence. Darkness hit me like a wave of icy coldness and heat all at once. I knew, I just knew this was Opal.

It meant I was the intruder in her mind. Somehow drawn inside her body.

Skye's eyes looked at me for a moment it felt as if she was looking not at me, but at our very minds and soul. "Mistress, I sense something different about you. Something has changed to provide this world for us." Her eyes suddenly drew back, revealing only white though never taking her sight away, a gasp passing her lips. A sheer bubble raised her in the air, encasing all of her long hair in a floating pool.

"Finally. I was beginning to think she was getting worthless to us." Harley stood beside me in a perfect mirror as all of us stared at the floating girl.

With a flash of blinding light, that burned at my still opened eyes, the bubble shifted, becoming solid and clear at the same time. The pain that shot through my eyes waned, leaving only the same feeling of pleasant tingling in its wake. A hazy image appeared through and on the glowing globe.

The dawning of buildings shone through in the unmistakeable view of a city. My city. My world.

A jolt of excitement and blood lust shot through this body as I watched planes and cars go by in what I knew to be normal, as millions of people rushed by in their meaningless lives. As knowledge flooded through my mind and streamed off into Opals.

It took a while until I realised Skye had collapsed to the floor, Viv and Jinga helping her up with wariness in their faces, both directed at me.

I felt myself walking forward, hand cupping Skye's chin and peering into the still open eyes, though now once more purple. "Tell me how we can reach this world you speak of."

"The way has already been shown Mistress." And then she gave in to unconsciousness.

Too many thoughts were running through my mind. I couldn't decide which were mine or Opal's anymore. Though hers still gave off the sense of evil, I could feel my essence, the very thing that was me being sucked in without notice, swirling together in this great void of emptiness that all at once was full. Full of everything I wanted and everything I hated.

A black torrent of hate and pain filled my mind, bringing with it pleasure and power that I didn't know existed. And knowledge that couldn't be gained from memories. I didn't know who I was anymore. Both Opal and Necie. With the power and strength of this body. The calculation and knowledge to thrive in both worlds and darkness. Darkness that felt better than any chocolate or stimulate surging through my body. Merging together into one mind of single thoughtor was it, slight nausea flowed through my mind, and only my mind, disappearing in an instant, and leaving me, me who was both Opal and Necie.

My eyes, that I could truly feel now, not like before, where I was only a watcher, turned to look down at my hand. A hand that suddenly clenched, enveloping with a zing that was my power, like an addiction that brought my whole being alive, filling and making me aware of everything bathed in darkness. Shadows. My claw like fingernails dung into pale skin, drawing blood, a feeling that sang with heightened joy and relish.

"Opal. You okay?" Harley's hand on my shoulder shook me out of my discovery.

A cool smile touched my lips. "Perfect."

Dark eyes glowing with red pupils turned their glare on Jinga. "Leave the Seer to Viv. I want you to watch and guard over the others." These words came from my lips yet still I didnt know where they came from. Something has changed, yet everything was still the same.

"Of course." Bat wings folded as she bowed from the hip.

"I am holding you responsible if any escape. I trust you aren't too weakened from battle to handle some caged animals?" The words passed my lips in the tone of command that only Opal knew. Jinga slowly shook her head.

"Not at all. It will be my pleasure to serve as you command Mistress." And with a flutter of wings, she was gone, weaving out the window and into the dark skies beyond.

Blue pupiless eyes, that I knew to spark green in a God's fury once angry, looked at me in what could only be concern. "There is something different about you today."

Something tugged inside my head as I watched Catsyile, beaten, being dragged away to her own special prison that was immune to her powers. The part that still remained sympathetic to her as a friend cried out. The other only frowned slightly in curiosity.

"Harley...why do you hate Catsyile so?" I asked in answer.

Both of us turned to glare at the remaining people in the room.

Bui threw a smirk at me as he bowed, following Viv, who floated Skye with her mind out of the chamber.

With all of this, and we were still friends. Now what other evil duo can ever say that huh? It's either back stabbing or killing the other to get a bigger share. But even here, me and Tara, Harley, are like nutella and my spoon.

Harley didn't answer watching Bui walk out. "You know, he would go well with one of your men. I doubt that hes a great of a lover to women but I hear some of your harem would like him."

I pause for a second. Still same obsession with yaoi. Hm..."Don't change the subject."

Harley's eyes flashed green. "I don't hate her."

She faced away from me, staring out at the dark stormy skies that brightened outside the window. Her voice laced with menace as she continued. "But she angers me. Her spouting of justice for this land that is ours by right. A cleansing of all that oppose us. Of the powerless weaklings that pollute this world. She protects what destroys Blackstar while doing it for her own means so she can get petty revenge and place herself as ruler."

An answering thought came at this and I spoke it aloud. "Nevertheless, she is proving to be a thorn in our side that has to be gotten rid of."

Harley turned to me, eyes suddenly excited. "Come, I have to show you my latest weapon against all the fools that oppose us."

As if it was the most natural thing in the world, I walked straight into the swirling black and white marble wall, Harlequinn beside me. And felt nothing as it passed. The ability to walk through all things in shadow.

Harley strode forward with purpose and I saw the room we entered filled with lab equipment, cages glowing in white, shimmering magic holding back all kinds of animals and some even humans, all silenced though their mouths were open in greeting screams.

I felt no remorse as I walked by them, ear mice, cloned sheep and even little chibis which were no bigger than a cat, and I recognised them to be various anime characters brought to life...chibized.

Finally, a large cage peeked over all the others.

"Come out darlings..." Harley coaxed whatever was inside.

Cute bubbly eyes stared back at me, shining with their pitying depths. Pupils enlarged to take up most of their eyes and looking almost filled with tears.

The perfect weapons, are they not? So disgustingly cute no one will have the heart to kill them! Bwahahaha!

Harlequinns mouth twitched in triumph as she flung open the window. FLY, MY PRETTIES FLY!!!

One by one the disgustingly, heart wrenchingly, adorably, cute, flying monkeys jumped out the window fluttering their small heart shaped wings and their fluffy little tails wagging behind them, their little fangs bared happily as they obeyed.

One by one they fell with a tiny little squeal.

Harlequin scratched her cheek. Hmmneeds a little work.

I felt my eye twitch. THIS was their secret ultra weapon of doom? I looked in worry at Harley who was watching the window in thought. Suddenly small wings appeared followed by the small body of the flying monkey, eyes watery and near tears. It looked like it was flapping those cute little heart shaped wings for dear life.

"There we go."

And it dropped with another squeal that echoed all the way down on what I knew to be a very tall castle atop a mountain. A tiny little splat followed.

"This is what occupies your time?" I asked.

Harley's blue calm eyes turned to me with a shrug. "I have no want of a harem thank you."

Harem...mine. A vision of a room full of gorgeous guys rose in my mind. And then there was Bui who held more power then all of them combined. Which in itself was why I let him into my bed. I take pleasure from eventually breaking him.  An answering disgust came at this thought.

My mind snapped to the present. "Harley, what do you think of this other Blackstar?" I asked even as the two halves of my mind argued in a clashing of brainwaves. Home or conquest.

A chilling smile lifted her all too pale lips. "We will make it ours just as this one."

My own smiled back, mind merged once again, overridden. "Soon," came the answering promise.

     ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Days passed in a flash all of it filled with blood and killing. Taking out Xas and Catsyile at Harley's request to ferret out all the rebel bases with torture. All the rest were tortured for the fun of it by various underlings.

I found my body could project itself into a form that was real and not, a form that was pure shadow and power, but holding only a fraction of my power as I personally led purges out over this planet named Blackstar. Making the skies rain in blood at mine and Harley's feet.

It was delicious, the growing void inside my heart where feelings once stood battered away with each purge, each kill. Each growing mass of nameless and faces I recognised. Those of my friends, those of strangers.

And in their pain, ecstasy and joy filled my being.

It was addictive this power. This power that made me almost indestructible, that could wipe out lives in a single sweep of my hand, that felled opposing powers and created an army of shadows at whim. Only equal to that of Harley's.

Now I stood in my chambers, my room, filled with the luxury of well oiled guys at  my beck and call, gazing at me with total obedience. With love.

"My Mistress." One murmured, eyes lowered, pouring me a cup of tea.

This was the life.

No more school, no more worries, and complete control of the world. And the added bonus of no annoying siblings to share. What more can I ask for? I smiled looking around the silken chamber, layered upon layered with pillows of black and red, a dark fountain of water situated in the middle like a small pond. Food a constant as well as pleasures for the body.

I was shook out of contentment as the doors of my chamber opened. Bui stepped out, his eyes roaming over the other men with a hint of disgust. And to my own partial disgust, my body reacted in excitement at the hard, cold, merciless look in his eyes. Pure lust.

"Leave us."

I lifted an eyebrow as the men bowed as one to me and walked out in a row. His lips were pressed in a thin line.  Is there a reason you entered without permission?

"Vincenzo is back." He said with a sneer.

I only stared expectantly as something stirred in memory. A guy, short dark hair flying wild over his unnaturally ice blue eyes. And no clothes to speak of on a lean, muscular and well toned body. Okay, it was more of a hot flash.

Except, it wasn't like the mix of extreme disgust and pleasure with Bui, but in a word, ecstasy in that one thought...and the disgust to a lesser extent. There wasn't much doubt who this 'Vincenzo' was. The name gave it away already. Vince.

Before I could fully collect my thoughts, Bui stepped up beside me, his golden claw spread threateningly and gleaming. "Opal, he..."

"No need for introductions Bui." A man strode through the opened doors. Immediately I could see he was taller than Bui, and me. More handsome than Bui too. Though that wasn't saying much. A sleek, dark suit adorned his body, the V of the jacket open to show off a bit of muscle and the gold chains below. A smirk was directed with a hint of a leer at me, as he bowed down at the waist. "Mistress."

I stared at him. Vince. He looked no different except for the eyes, which meant, still not really good looking but passablewhich also doesnt say much for Bui. And there was something about him here. A flash of memory struck me again.

Bodies writhing together in heat and passion. And by the size of things, it wasn't Bui.

Bui's eyes shone in a cold glare. "Mr Love himself."

I looked back at Vince....Vincenzo. And the Necie part of me could be felt rolling her eyes. Figures. Vince was horny as hell back on Earth and it just somehow fitted that his power was Lust and Love here.

Yet somehow the disgust for him was to a lesser extent than Bui. Hey, at least I cybered with Vince before, no surprises here. Bui is just....again, the Necie part of me ran a creepy shudder through my body.

In my short moment of contemplation, I didn't notice the silent glaring contest both guys were directing at each other. I could've sworn Lightning flew at Vincenzo's eyes.

"What is it?" My voice broke the unspoken challenges being thrown between the two.

Vincenzo smirked charmingly at me. "I return with news on victory on the latest purge. And another matter." He looked at Bui for a moment before resettling on me. "I heard you captured Battle Angel."

Wha?

Bui turned to me. "Heh. Mistress, Harlequinn has ordered their deaths today, though Love-boy here is against it. Or more specifically Battle Angels death. A poorly concealed glare was directed at him from Vincenzo.  In turn, yellow eyes glared back as Bui spoke in conviction, They are useless to us now. The Rebels are too little in number to be considered a threat. With Catsyile gone, there won't ever be any questions against your rule."

I narrowed my fully dark orbs on him. Opal and Necie conflicted in my mind.

My enemies.

My friends. But not the friends I knew, so did they really matter?

Their faces as I envisioned my own hands cutting the life out of them, and the terrible pleasure that came at that thought. And once again, Opal won. "So be it."

I stood to go to the main chamber.

     ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

My thoughts were a jumble as I entered the chamber, torn between excitement and horror.

I didn't know what urged me to do it. But my first reaction upon seeing her face. Anita's face, was to bring on the usual greeting I gave. "Oh...you."

But it was the usual greeting that Necie gave. And I watched as Battle Angel's dark ringed eyes widen. The next words twisted my mind, even as Slayer's fist enclosed upon her throat, to end it.

"Necie?"

Something made me me do it. Just as his hand was poised to kill, the look of delight on my god-bro's face was one I knew well, but was now shining in bloodlust. I felt my mouth open in a scream.

"NO!!!!"

Everything in the chamber stilled. In that moment, I saw everything as it was. The tired bunch of rebels, all beaten down, clothes in shreds and all bruised, their eyes still glaring. The most weary of them all being the Healer. Those looking at me and them in anticipation, except Vincenzo who looked slightly disappointed.

The face of who I KNEW to be Anita staring at me in shock. Somewhere behind her the same feature gained dawning realisation on Liathano...or was it Jocelyn's face.

A shredding pain flew through my mind, making me clutch my head with my hands, a scream pouring through that shook the walls and made all of them cringe or cup their ears in pain, a scream that was not natural. It felt like my head was splitting!

Like a gust of wind, it went, making me look into the pained eyes around me, especially the one of Anita who squeezed hers open to stare at me, still in shock.

"Take them away." I managed to rasp.

Harley looked at me, her head tilted, eyes blue in confusion. She tore her gaze away and gestured to Jinga. "You heard."

Without ceremony they left, leaving me and Harley alone once more. Neither of us spoke. I didn't feel up to it. Something was wrong with me. For a second, as I felt my mind splitting into two from the merged Opal and Necie, I touched something that shook me. It was horrible in essence, an endless screaming inside me and for a second I touched it, the void that was inside me, filled with replacement feelings that twisted together in a pit that was endless and teaming, painful.

"What's wrong?" Harley settled finally, her voice laced with suspicion. She was my friend, but she wasn't as stupid as most other evil overlords.

I looked up at her with eyes that held more Opal than Necie. "Fine." A lie came to my lips. "But they should not die yet. I still have plans for them." It was the best I could come up with, and Anita's face loomed in my mind again. She knew it was me as I knew it was her. There was no way I could kill her now. Could I?

I needed to rest, mentally at least, my body was quivering with the loss of a kill. I didn't know how much time past as me and Harley stood there, at the top of the tower, the skies thundering above us in lightning, swirling in both light and shadow. The only sound of my own breathing, that was quickly turning to laughter.

Even to my own ears it was chilling.

Harley smiled at me once I calmed. "Better."

A loud boom rang in the air. It shone overhead in a cascade of what looked to be falling stars. Harley's eyes went green as another exploded in the air. It was the equivalent of alarms in the complex, especially since I knew none that worked for us had that power.

With a growl, Harley flung her arm out, a swirling vortex of light solidifying into existence and unfuzzing just to see what was unmistakably bat wings along with a cascade of dark hair. Jinga. Harley's face only darkened as Jinga walked out of view, and a blast of light shot at the bars holding  Xas, Imrhien, Nando and Jennifer, disintegrating it upon impact on the Shadow cage.

A black furrow of power follow to charge at the Light cage that held Catsyile, Alita, Liathano, Kayashi, and Bibi.  Again that disintegrated.

Bat wings came into view again as Jinga helped them up and led them out, her face showing her nervousness.

Harley's eyes blazed neon green, a menacing smile lighting her face. "Betrayal..."

I felt my own anger form in a darkness that consumed my mind.

I barely registered Samiya charge into the chamber a few moments later, yelling, "The prisoners are free! They...!" She didn't have time to finish as our power shoved her against the black marble, knocking her unconscious with the force of the blow. I didn't even feel the wall give way as I merged with the shadows in it and Harley the light.

It was like Opal took over.

The form of Jinga running down towards us, her eyes wide made Harley growl low in her throat. "Mistresses! They trapped me! I got out by mimicking your power...urk!" Harley's hand clenched in the air, choking her off, before flinging the girl outside through the window.

Both of us went after her, blazing discs of flight beneath our feet.

My body sang with the need and pleasure of hunting the traitor down, ignoring the small voice that told me she was a friend, only knowing what had to be done to right this treachery.

I saw Jinga right herself in the air, barely having time to do that as a shock of light charged like electricity through her body, making her face contort in pain.

I felt my hands cup together over my head, the thrill of my power coursing through my veins as darkness gathered at my fingertips. Two words came from my throat.

"Shadow Fall."

I threw the globe with a smile on my face.

Jinga's eyes widened. "NO! They...!!!" Her sentence broke in a gurgle as the green of a thermal scythe cut through her neck, Harley flipping back on her disc as my attack hit, annihilating Jinga's body.

Harley flew through the smoke her face in eerie calm. "We will send out the others to hunt them down."

And then the full force of what I did struck me. I killed her. Jinga. Jennifer Luo.

The raising pain in my head rose again, pulling and tearing at me apart. My fingers dung into my skull as my scream rang again through the air. This time I felt the jarring tear as what I knew as me, the merged me begin to break apart, sending tremors of hurt down my spine and through my body.

My eyes opened, but all I saw was the school. Like I had never left. But then I saw myself, still sitting in the same spot. Eye a fathomless black, soulless. I stared into oblivion and felt the pull of consciousness towards my body. Necie's body. Not mine anymore...

I felt myself tear, my mind dislocating from both bodies in agony and unnaturalness, like a tearing of consciousness as part of me was split, pulling away, leaving only the true thing that was Opal.

The black void without semblance of human feeling anymore consuming me, leaving me with the madness that was nothing. An infinity of nothingness. The true madness that only showed itself now, a consuming madness for blood, for pain, for pleasure.

And as part of me tore away, down the path that joined and anchored me still to my world, the barrier shutting behind me as it left, with a definite clang, trapping me here in my madness, in Opal.

I sensed myself crumbling to my knees, hands, claws digging in my head to make the pain and agony go away.

"Opal!"

But I didn't cry, only smiled a smile befitting of the void inside me as I stood, my lips lifting and parting as I looked toward Harley, finally giving in to laughter.

You had that feeling? Your heart clenches, crying for the pain, but not. You can't breathe. You can't move. Then, it all stops. There is a heartbeat, but strangely, it doesn't feel like yours. It doesn't matter. Nothing does. That is when your soul died.

When my soul died. As I felt nothing as what was Necie crumbled away.

     ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Do what you want
Make me hurt
Give me pain
It is all I have ever gotten
I have learned to live with it
I have learnt to love it.
I revel in it.
It is what drives me to live.
As in death, recovery is impossible.
I cannot hurt myself after death.
So I live.
For the pain.
The pain and suffering.
The metallic taste of blood.
It's sweet crimson smell.
I love it.
I crave it.
My soul has been torn from my body.
But I control it.
The actions.
The thoughts.
As I am still there.
It is the soul I am missing.
It doesnt matter anymore.
Nothing does.
Not to me.
I am the new queen of evil. Of darkness. Of the hell on earth.
I am Opal.
