CHPT. 10

A WAY OUT!

Kalika stared out at the place where the child once stood. “That child. she looks so familiar. Where have I seen her before? Could it be? No, it couldn’t. She was bearly 2 when she died. This child looked 4 or 5, it can’t be her.” Kalika let out a sigh. Her heart was still in pain, all those memories, painful memories, came back with a full vengeance. “He had locked himself up in her room for weeks. He blamed himself for her death. And when he finally came out . . . he looked like death himself . . . totally emotionless and cold . . . that was when everything changed . . . for him and I.” Kalika cried silently to herself. She had tried to save him from himself, and she did that, with her life. The last thing she remembered was him calling out for her, crying a tear of blood, for Her. He Did Love her after all.

“My lady? Is ever thing all right?” Purred Sekmet, concern fills her eyes.

“It is nothing Sekmet. I was reliving my past. That’s all.” Replied Kalika, she looked around again, “So how do we get out of here?”

“We must call for Nepthys help. This is part of her realm, her jurisdiction. She can help us.” Said Sekmet.

“How do we call for her?”

“It is the same as Summoning a Guardian.”

“Are you sure? She isn’t exactly someone you usually call out too, you know.”

“She will come. She will listen, to You.”

“What do you mean by that?” Kalika questioned.

“You have won the love of the Gods young Queen, long ago.” Purred Sekmet. “You have sacrificed yourself for those you love and for our beloved Egypt. Though it is a job of the Pharaoh’s to do, to save his own country, you did it on his behalf, to save him. All . . . for the name of Love.” Sekmet smiled at Kalika, she doesn’t know that Ra had ordered All the Gods, that they will do what ever it takes, for her to have the happiness she deserved. She had manage to steal the heart of the “Unmovable” God. And he had promised to never love another mortal again after the Betrayal.

“Sekmet? You in there?” Kalika shakes Sekmet’s shoulder.

“Hmm? Yes, I’m fine. Are you ready?”

Kalika nods, and begins to chant a summoning spell. “She who rules the Darkness Hear my call I am She Who Wields the One I am the Sealer of Darkness I Summon Thee Nepthys, Goddess of the Dark Come Forth Appear Before Me!”

A low rumbling can be heard and the ground shakes. Then a woman spurts out from the ground. A beautiful woman of pitch black hair that reaches her shoulders, and eyes darker than the midnight skies, she had that darkness about her, that terrifies all that beholds her. So this is the Goddess of Darkness. Indeed her very presence brings the feeling of dread and misery. The Goddess spoke, “So you decided to be her Guardian?”

Sekmet moves up a little towards her. “It has been a long while Sister.”

“Yes, it has been, a long time. But why have you summoned me here? You can easily leave this place.” Said Nepthys.

“That is true, but I cannot take her with me, for she is mortal, and still alive, somewhat.”

“I see.” Nepthys turns to Kalika and takes her face near her, gazing hard into Kalika’s eyes. “She has not awaken yet? But her memories should have been returned already. Something is wrong, very very wrong.”

“You’ve noticed it too? But it was placed in her when We . . .” Sekmet looks at Kalika who was looking very unhappy.

“I happen to be here, you know! And what Are you 2 talking about anyway!” Kalika pouts, she doesn’t like being treated as if she wasn’t there.

Sekmet looks at Nepthys, “Should we tell her?”

Nepthys shakes her head no, “No. It is for Isis to tell, it is her predictions, after all. And if we tell her now, she will only get confused.” Sekmet nods.

“Okay! That’s it! What is going on! Tell me Now!” growled Kalika. She sounded almost like her big brother on a Bad day, which is almost, everyday.

“Her attitude hasn’t changed much.” Nepthys told Sekmet, who nods agreeing. “That. You will have to ask Isis.”

“Isis?” Kalika questioned, her head is spinning in confusion.

“All will be answered there.” Purred Sekmet. “Just be patient.”

“Oh . . . Alright.” Pouts Kalika. “Anyways. How do I get out of here? We seem to be deep inside this realm.”

“I will take you out. But when you get there, you will be very weak for awhile. You have been here for quite a long time. And you body has been . . . empty. It will take time for you to get use to your physical body. So stay close to your friends.” Nepthys looks at her, “And do Not tell Pharaoh of his Past. He must go through Isis first. Remember that, understand. It is very important, that he remembers it on His Own! If he is to survive of what’s to come.”

Kalika doesn’t understand why she can’t, but One does not Disobey an order from a Goddess, so she nods yes.

She touches Kalika’s head and chants some ancient Egyptian dialect. Then Kalika begins to glow and disappears in a flash.

“She does not know she wields the Udjat within her, if she gets out of control, there will be another bloodbath.” Nepthys looks at Sekmet, “You must protect her until She has fully awaken.”

“I understand. But what can I do, if she lose control?” Sekmet purred worriedly.

“Pray to Ra that she doesn’t.” Nepthys said, and disappeared into the dark abyss.

“Helpful, isn’t she?” sighed Sekmet, and disappeared into a stone door shaped as a Lions Head.

Back with the living. = = =

Kalika finally awakens, and finds herself in the jet’s bedroom. She tries to call out for her brother but no words comes out from her lips. Oh yeah! She did say I have to get use to my physical body again didn’t She. But, just how long is that! I hate being unable to do anything! She stared at the ceiling, trying to feel any tingly sensation in her body. She manage to wiggle her toes, but her legs just won’t move, neither does her arms. She tries to roll over and Thud she falls face first onto the floor. S@%*! That F@%*#^& hurts she yelped. Just then Seto ran in to see what the noise was. He sees his sister on the floor looking like a tangled seaweed. And laughs happily.

“Here let me untangle you. Keep still will you!” Seto barked out. And Kalika tried to wiggle herself out so she can hug him, but her arms feels like jello. “There you go.” And lays her back down.”

“But I want a Hug!” This time she manages to raise her arms out like a child wanting to be picked up.

He raised an eyebrow at her, and despite himself, he laughs out loud. And reaches out for her, and they embraced each other tightly, as lovers do when they have been apart for a long time. “I’ve missed you sunshine. I thought you were going to leave me.”

“I would never you leave you Seto. I love you to much to hurt you. And Mokuba too.” She weeps in his chest. “Hmm . . . your so warm. Hold me a while longer, please.” “As you wish.”

Soon the Joey, Tristan, and Tea shows up, they are crying too.

“Welcome back!” Joey said.

“Yeah! Welcome back!” Replied Tristan

“We were so worried about you, well, Your brother and Yami was The most concerned.” Tea kissed Kalika’s on top of her head. And she whispered to her ears. “They cried you know, for you.” And she pulled Joey and Tristan out the door, leaving Seto and Yugi in the room. “Go talk to her. You know you want too.” She said to Yugi as she left.

Yugi stared at Tea as she left, then to Kalika, who is still embraced in Seto’s arms. Just for a moment he thought he felt jealousy, but quickly pushed that aside. He really doesn’t know her that well anyway, so why should he feel jealous, Because I Love Her. He walks towards the two and sits opposite Seto on her bed. “I’m glad your okay.” Gee I feel dumb. Is that all I can say. I want to say more but. He looks at Seto and starts to walk out.

“Yugi wait!” Seto grabbed out to Yugi by his arms. “I think you 2 need to talk something out. I’ll leave. Just call me if something happens. Okay?” Yugi nods, and shifts uncomfortably. Seto releases himself from Kalika, he really didn’t want to leave her with Him, but he knew it was the right thing to do. “I’ll be back. I want you to rest okay. We still have a long flight to go.” Seto takes her head to his and kisses her forehead. “I love you, And I will do anything to save you. So next time. Don’t fight alone.” Kalika cried a little, “As you wish, Seto.” And Seto leaves locking the door behind him.

There is silence for a long time. Yugi sits next to her on her bed. “I’m sorry. I was jealous of you. I thought you were going to still Yami away from me.” Yugi starts to cry.

Kalika takes Yugi into her arms and holds him as if he were a child, (in a way, he was). “I do still love him. But he loves you also. I would never do anything to hurt to both of you. I care to much for you to, Yugi.”

“You do?”

“Of course. You two are one in the same. Just right now, you are of different personas. But soon that will have to change. We don’t have much time.” Kalika looks at Yugi, she wants to tell him the truth, but Nepthys said not too.

“What do you mean, we don’t have much time?” Yugi questioned her.

“I am sorry. But I cannot tell you right now. All will be explained, when you see Isis.” She answered.

“Whose Isis? Is she really an important person?” He looked at her.

She smiled, he looked really cute in all his innocence. “She is not a person. She is an Egyptian Goddess. Our Mother of sorts. She gave life to the first Pharaoh.”

“Oh.” Yugi thought to himself. And decided to tell Yami she was alright. /Yami?/ /Yami!/

There is no answer. /Yami? Are you okay? Yami! Answer me!/ Still no answer. “Something is not right. He isn’t answering to my calls. He bundles himself up against Kalika. “He’s never ignored my call before.”

“Did you two fight or something?” Kalika asked him as she stroked his head to comfort him.

“No. He was in your room awhile ago, and screamed. Said something about seeing his daughter’s death. And he disappeared in his Soul Room.” Yugi sniffed.

Kalika was shocked. When did he remember that! “Yugi? Was he touching me then?”

“He had your hand against his cheeks when I found him. Do you know something?”

“It seems he shared my memories about our daughter.” Kalika was concerned now. The last time he locked himself out . . . He wasn’t the same anymore. “Yugi. Will you share your mind with me?”

“What do you mean by that?” Yugi tilted his head.

“I need to speak with him. Fast!” There is worry in her voice. Please don’t change on me now, you promised, to stay with me, forever.

Yugi looked at her for a moment, “Okay. How can I help you?”

Kalika pressed her forehead against Yugi’s. “Just clear your mind. And picture your soul room.”

“Okay.” Yugi closed his eyes, and thought hard of Yami’s door.

“Good. Just relax. I’ll be right back.” Kalika disappeared in front of him.
