She seems so strong
yet she's about to crumble
the walls she builds around herself
are about to tumble
Yet she carries on day by day
trying to hide her tears away

She wipes her face
when no is looking
She won't tell anyone that trouble is cooking
She sings a happy tune every now and then,
but she cries in the dark
almost more than often

She's hurting inside
and it's starting to show
She won't tell me her story
because she doesn't want anyone to know

She puts on her lipstick
to hide her frown
I always catch her looking down
hoping her life will somehow trun around

She puts on mascara
but with tears flow a black river
Her world has turned cold
just waiting fopr her to shiver

Her head hangs low
as more tears start to flow
How much longer can she deal with her sorrow?

She tries to carry her head high
to mask her concealed feelings
No one must know that she cries
no, not even I

I told her she can count on me
through thick and thin
and anything
I'll be here to listen,
to be her friend,
