Rice Sack/Bag

explaination

A rice sack or bag is a cotton or muslin bag of rice. When heated in the microwave for 2-3 minutes, it is nice and warm. A cordless hearting pad, if you will. Often, covered with a pillowcase-like coverslip to keep it clean. Flannel is very nice for this purpose.

instructions

Sew a bag from the plain cotten fabric. Fill the bag about 1/2 way full of plain white rice. Not instant, not brown, not anything but plain white rice.

Before sewing closed, do a test run, for about a minute, in your microwave. If you don't like the scent of the rice, you can add some type of potpourie or other scented oil to the rice. (dried lavender, cloves, dried rosemary, etc) Sew closed when satisfied with the contents of the bag.

Sew a pillowcase type bag from the patterned fabric. Make slightly larger than rice bag for an easy fit.

Microwave the bag for between 1 and 3 minutes, depending on how warm you want it to be. More than 3mins puts you in danger of scorching your rice. And that never smells good. If you do scorch your rice, it isn't that big a deal. But it might smell funny.

If you need more explicit instructions, google the phrase 'rice bag'. The internet can tell you everything!
