I've only seen like 10 episodes of the English dub, but I have seen *and own* the movie, so here's my little thought. The Escaflowne movie, "A Girl In Gaia", can't really be "compared" to the Escaflowne series. Why? Because "A Girl In Gaia" is a whole new take on the Escaflowne story. It doesn't follow the same story line as the series, character personalities are altered, and some characters are even cut out entirely. A lot of people seem to dislike the movie, but you really have to forget the Escaflowne series to enjoy the film. It's not a sequel or prequel to the series. But, I do think it would be interesting to compare the music/art/personality changes/etc. Just keep in mind that, just because the movie is not like the TV series, it's bad. I, myself, enjoyed the movie alot and hope others will too. ^_^
