Other Stuff

Well, I don't know much about Davy 'cause I don't have his book.. YET.. but I will get it, and then there will be more stuff. But for now.. here goes..

Davy was born in England to a working class family. He spent his early vacations in some place, that he liked. Go watch Heart and Soul if you care, you'll even get sound effects.

Davy dropped out of school at age 14 to become a jockey. He served an aprentiship of 5 years, but then left, or something. I don't really know. Supposedly, he was too heavy to be a jockey.

Well, Davy eventually realized his gift for acting and got parts in Broadway plays. One of his most noteable roles was as the Artful Dodger in Oliver! and he even got nominated for a Tony award. He put out an album with the oh so original title "Davy Jones" and had his own fan club even BEFORE the Monkees.

Davy was the first Monkee choosen, and the heart-throb of the group. He sung the sappiest songs, but some (searching for a word..) bouncy ones too. He has been known to do nutty things, such as when the director once siad "Let's roll" Davy got down on the ground and ROLLED. He stayed on, as did Micky, with the Monkees till the very end. After that he joined up with Micky to form Dolenz, Jones, Boyce, and Hart in the 1970's. They toured a bit and put out an album. Oh, I almost forgot, in 1968 Davy married Linda Haines. The marrige was kept a secret so Davy's "cute little guy, that is AVAILABLE" status wouldn't be ruined. The truth eventually came out, but they broke up awhile after that. They did have children, Talia Elizabeth (October 2, 1968), and Sarah Lee (July 3, 1971).

Davy did a bunch of stuff in the late 70's early 80's like going on Broadway again, and guest starring on stuff, but I don't remember the details SO..

Eventually in 1986 The Monkees got back together, for their 20th anniversery. MTV was playing re-runs, and Arista wanted to put out a record with them. Now, Davy for whatever reason didn't like this, and although he toured with them, didn't like all the new stuff Micky and Peter were doing. I don't understand this, as Davy was on Pool it, and in the Heart and Soul video.. but ours it not to wonder why... Eventually MTV banned them from the air (mean ol' MTV) and everything fell through. They did however have the top grossing tour of 1986 before that happend, not to mention a single gone gold, and a platinum album.

Some time Davy also got re-married, to Anita Pollinger, and they had two kids, Jessica Lillian (September 4, 1981) and Annabel (June 26, 1988). They have since divorced.(Aw shucks, you mean Davy's single?) I realize now that I don't have a CLUE what Davy did in between the 20th and 30th reunion, but part of his time was taken up with Monkee Business (hehehe.. pun) and he also did horse stuff.

As you should know by now, Micky, Mike, Peter, and Davy got together in 1997 to make JustUs. They toured England, and were joined by Mike, who later left because he hates touring. Supposedly, they are now working on a movie. Davy is also touring (insert last place name here) with The Monkees and "may be coming to your town," but I've noticed that he has NEVER been there when I "just look over my shoulder" and believe me, I've TRIED *G*
