An Unexpected Meeting

"Good Morning!" My radio alarm came blaring from my nightstand. Six am, a whole day ahead of me. " Here's the latest hit off the new Aerosmith album and a chance for you to snag some tickets to the soldout show. Just keep listening and I'll let ya know how!"

I perked up. I had stood in line for six hours the day the tickets had come out and now, a month later, I had lost all hope to see the greatest rock and roll band that ever lived.

"Jaded" played as I danced around my room singing along while trying to get ready for school. I grabbed my hairbrush and ran it through my tangled hair when the local DJ came back on the air. "Alright all you early risers out there, heres your chance. Answer this question as the fifth caller and you and two friends will hanging with guys backstage. Alright here it comes, Where did the band start? Now be that fifth caller and you win!"

"AHHHHH THE ANCHORAGE IN SUNAPEE NEW HAMPSHIRE!!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. The phone was inches away from me, I reached for it and dialed the number to the studio.

BEEP BEEP BEEP!!! Busy, unbeleivable! Quickly I pressed the redial button.
"Hello, W I K Z, 93.8!" answered the DJ calmly.
"THEY STARTED AT THE ANCHORAGE IN SUNAPEE NEWHAMPSHIRE!" I blurted out.
"Oh I'm sorry you just barly missed your chance! I was just about to announce the winner when you called! But keep on listening!
"ARE YOU SERIOUSE? How many people listen to you this early in the morning?"
" You would be surprised."
I hung up the phone. Unbeleivable absolutly unbeleivable! My last hope was over for ever seeing them. I may have thought the the world was over but it really wasn't, so I had to keep getting ready.

School was dull, all I could think about was not getting those tickets. When I got home I called the radio station again and bugged them to see if they had anymore tickets, but they rudly replied that they had given away the last that morning.

On saturday afternoon I headed out to lunch with some friends. I made them listen to me complain for the next hour.
"I didn't get the tickets and I'll probably never get to see them in concert! How many times does Aerosmith come to town?" I moaned.
"Don't worry about it, we can go see another concert," said Erin, completely unconcered while she poked at her burger.
"Yeah, but they're like, the best!"
"Come on get over it, it's not a big deal."
"Of course it is."
I felt a small tap on my shoulder. I was so mad I swum around."What do you-"
"Sorry but I couldn't help but over hear you about not getting tickets to the Aerosmith concert," Steven Tyler was standing right in front of me! I almost fell backwards in my seat.
"Nope, t-they were all sold out," I gasped.
I reached into his backpocet and pulled out two laminated passes.
"I got these backstage passes if you want them," he offered.
"SURE!" I nearly yelled.
"Here you go kid," he passed the tickets towards me.
"Thanks so much!"
"No problem, hope you have a good time."
Then he was out the front door. I went silent. Erin looked at me wide eyed.
"Oh my gosh!" She said, breaking the silence.
"I KNOW!"

So the next night I was hanging out back stage at the sold out concert. So perhaps good things do come to those who wait, or those to who complain alot. Either or!=)
