And now for some blurb. As you can deduce from the above, I was born in Workington in the county of Cumbria, which is mostly empty apart from a few very industrial towns along the west coast, of which Workington is one. I lived there until the age of 18, which was relatively uneventful as not much happens up there. Then by some miracle, I got accepted to Oxford University, Queen's College to be precise, to read physics. So I duly shifted myself to the slightly different environment of Oxford for the following 4 years, which was fun. I made lots of friends, and did too much rowing and not enough physics. And I got up to lots of other stuff too.

Immediately after finishing Oxford, the course of my life was fairly undefined. Fortunately that didn't last for long, and I joined the RAF, starting lnitial 0fficer Training in October 2001. That kept me busy for 8 months, until I changed my mind about it all and left to return to civvy street. So suddenly I was back in sunny Workington, scouring the graduate job market for a new job while temporarily earning my bucks stacking boxes and dispensing drinks. Now I've scored a nice job with The Met Office, which keeps me busy once more, and keeps me moving round the UK quite a lot at the mo. And no, I'm not going to be on the damn telly any time soon.
