How To Make Love (ly web-pages)

So here you are, perusing this web-page, thinking "Wow, I wish I could make one of them". That is, of course, assuming you do not already have your own web-page which you probably do, and in all probability is superior to mine.

However, making the sweeping assumption that you do not have one and that you also have no idea how to make one, I wish to pass on to you my sage wisdom that I have collected and allowed to ferment over the years.

But wait a minute! Why should I waste time wittering on and on in my unreadable drone desperately trying to explain something technical when I can simply refer you to the source from where I learned most of what I know? Why indeed. So here you go, a link to a very good beginners guide to HTML from the people at NCSA.

Read it all? Good. Now, in my humble opinion, one of the most important aspects of a web-page is the backgrounds one uses. This may have been apparent from my no-holds-barred use of some shocking backgrounds in the past (although note present relatively conservative use). "Where can I get these shocking backgrounds from? Do I have to create them myself?" I hear you cry (unless its those damn voices in my head again). Fear not! There are thousands (well, hudreds) of web-sites around which exist only to provide weird and wonderful backgrounds for people in pursuit of the most eye-catching web-page. I used to have a list of links to some of my favourites of these pages on here, but alas on a recent check I found them all to be obsolete! Mind you, people these days seem a bit more net-literate than they were in 1998, so can probably find their own without help from me. C'est la vie.
