It fleshes out a career roadmap for RPCs and NPCs alike. As you will see, Vanguard Fleet is not just a collection of, say, 50 or 360 space capital craft or so, as was the Special Defense Fleet in its day and Prime Fleet as structured in March of 2000; rather it is meant to encompass every concievable career, position, and location relevant to Earth Command's mission. Throughout this presentation I may draw comparisons to the RL United States Armed Forces in an attempt to equate life in Vanguard with something people are familiar with. If this does not aid in your understanding where necessary, or if you have RL military knowledge and find a mistake please let me know. Before we go any further I will list the three overall entities of BC RolePlay: RP Author - This is you, the real person who plays Derek Smart's games and reads his forums. While I describe various training and rank progression processes, you the author do not have to undergo any actual insturction in the game. To RolePlay, you read the RP forum and post. You can do more if you want but that's all that's necessary. Real Player Character (RPC) - This is the fictitious person you control in the story. Your primary character is your eyes and ears. Non-Player Character (NPC) - NPCs are all the fictional people who exist in the RP universe who are not RPCs. Most of this information will apply to Non-Player Characters (NPCs) while RP Authors can pretty much pick and choose theirmost RP AuthorsReal Player Characters (RPCs) Enlistment and Recruit Training Vanguard is an all-volunteer Fleet
