July 2996 - Garrison enlisted in Vanguard Fleet. His parents cosigned his minor emancipation. August 2997 - In the Battle of Mars, Spectre Fleet forces so overwhelmed Vanguard Fleet's Martian deployment blocs that GC Wing called up all currently launched reinforcements. Garrison and his co-pilot were returning to their Naval Carrier in Earth's Arctic Ocean after completing their first Elite Force Pilot training exercise. GC's Tactical Support Arm vectored them and all available assets to Mars orbit. After the conflict he earns the pilot call-sign Quazar. 3000 - Quazar graduates from Enlisted Training. Vanguard Fleet awards the fully trained marine/pilot the rank of Private. August 3000 - Quazar participates in the First Gammulan Conflict. June 3006 - Vanguard Fleet redeploys Quazar's Bloc to the Credian Quadrant to assist the Kandorians and Mandorians in repelling a Gammulan/Valkerie invasion. 3007 - Vanguard Fleet promotes Quazar to Private First Class. March 3008 to August 3014 - Quazar participates in the Second Gammuland War. Early in 3014 - Vanguard Fleet promotes Quazar to Lance Corporal. 3021 - Vanguard Fleet promotes Quazar to Corporal. 3028 - Vanguard Fleet admits Quazar to Command School. He graduates in 3030 and is promoted to the Command Officer rank of Sergeant. 3037 - Vanguard Fleet promotes Quazar to Staff Sergeant. 3044 - Vanguard Fleet promotes Quazar to Sergeant First Class. 3051 - Vanguard Fleet promotes Quazar to First Sergeant. 3058 - Vanguard Fleet promotes Quazar to Sergeant Major. 3065 - Vanguard Fleet promotes Quazar to Command Sergeant Major. He applies to Commission School. 3072 - Quazar is admitted to Commission School. Upon graduation in 3074, the United Free Nations Commissions Quazar to the rank of Second Lieutenant at age 88. 3079 - Vanguard Fleet promotes Quazar to First Lieutenant. David Preston - served aboard the ECV Seeker, made it to Alliance Commandant Enlisted in Vanguard Fleet at age 16, graduated at age 18. Served aboard ECV Seeker for First Contact with Empirians. Remained assigned to ECV Seeker for the ship's entire commission. Insurgents destroyed Seeker in Battle of Mars. March 2901 - David Preston was born. [begin events of Introducing David Preston (title pending)] March 2918 - Preston graduated with honors from the Earthcom Enlisted Academy as a Marine Private and worked at Earthcom Central Starbase, awaiting recruitment by a Capital Craft Bloc. Later that month, two Earthcom intra-stellar cruisers repeled a Terran/Raider attack near Neptune. One cruiser, the ECV-Accretion, lost all but eleven crewmembers. The other craft and all its crew perished enroute to protected space. A Terran/Police carrier responded to Commander Chris Boardman's distress transmission from the Accretion and chased away the already battered Raiders and towed the Earthcom vessel back to Starpath. Commander Boardman's subsequent personnel requisitions not only depleted Starpath's already low reserve of Engineers and Marines stationed at Tradecom, but also cut into the station's own crew complement. In response, Vanguard Fleet transfered Preston's Bloc from Earthcom Central Starbase to replenish the Starpath's Marine complement. Due to its extensive damage, the ECV-Accretion underwent its first minor refit four months ahead of schedule to save the time and cost of repairing obsolete components. Commander Boardman recruited Preston and ninteen of his original Squad mates to serve on the ECV-Accretion which relaunched at the end of the month. April 2918 - While patroling the Uranus region, the ECV-Accretion intercepted and questioned a transport believed to be carrying Insurgent personnel and freight to the Gazer1 Starstation in orbit of Pluto. Just as the Accretion beamed over an inspection team, the armed transport opened fire and beamed two dozen Criminal and Raider Marines over to the Earthcom vessel. The ensuing chaos aboard the Accretion allowed the transport to escape the region. Preston and the other Marines managed to cut down two thirds of the intruders. But the rest loaded a shuttle with stolen cargo and escaped. In the end, fourteen crew members died and the rest managed to repair the ship enough to make it to Gazer1. Preston completed his seven years of service to Earth Command, which excluded his time at the Enlisted Academy. He re-enlisted without hesitation and was imediately promoted to Private First Class.
