Excerpts from the journals of Issendriel of the War of the Orb and the passing of the Eldarie

The war continues to be waged across Arven. The darkness that pours out of Angnar continues to drown all that stands in its path. The war had been raging over the lands of Lomenier, Endorier, Mach, and the Dales for long seasons and I fear that the forces that stand against the banner of Angnar will eventually fall. We face the might of Angnar: the orcish forces of Gorgorgoth, trolls, and the slave barbarians of Ishtarier.

Following the decree of the Council of Imralis, the Wise - consisting of the last elven lords, and ladies of the Quatrilien, the Wizards, and other elf-friends - has decided that the dark orb was to be taken to outer plane of existence, where it would be unmade, while the War continues. The suicidal task of sending the accursed orb of Angoth to the outer planes would lie on a party that have volunteered themselves and their souls to this task. I admire their bravery and foolishness for I doubt they will ever see Arven again, even should they succeed.

Winter 1665 Age of the Orb

The Witchking has cleverly broken off the north, isolating the Eldarie forces of Telerion, Imralis, and Nienar from the war that wages in Trinteare. Two of the twelve lead a host of orcs and trolls toward Telerion. With the Eldarie forces forced to defend our last cities, we are unable to aid the descendants of the Elyen. I shall leave Imralis to return to Trandil.

Spring 1666 Age of the Orb

A enigmatic group of knights hailing themselves under the banner of the Tyrisian Order join the war in the eastern front taking the forces of Angnar by surprise. This could perhaps turn the tide to our favor for an instance.

The Dales has suffered much under from the initial battles that took place at the start of the War. Father has agreed that I should lead a force of Trandil elves north to join the attack from another front. He has changed a great deal during these last few years.

Summer 1666 Age of the Orb

The war reached a climax at the Battle of Meledil. The elven host from Lorele, Nienar, and Telerion, together with the ranger lords of Nimralis, and warriors of Trinteare confronted the dark powers themselves on this final decisive battle. The battle was turning sour for the alliance until I, with the ancient Quentil sword Queloriel, slew the captain of Angnar in defense of the mortally wounded King Istarius II. The tides changed and the war was finally won with the destruction of the Black Orb of Ulmondor in the outer planes. Angnar was finally destroyed in the aftermath of the battle.

With the passing of the last enemy of the Quatrilien age, the oath that bound many of the Quatrilien and their descendants was completed. Over the next years that followed the War of the Orb, many elves left their ancient halls to the coast of Nienar, where they sailed away in the fair ships of the Sindoril into the hidden west. The passing of the Quentil, Sindoril, and Sindarien ended the Third Age of Arven.

However, not all the elves left to the west. Many elves who did not want to forsake the mortal lands of Arven chose to remain. Issendriel was among those who did not wish to leave. Her reasons are many, but among them was her need for vengeance against the serpent that destroyed her home in Lorele, Maurog. With the passing of many of her people, Issendriel, being the only Sindarien left, is now the Lady of Trandil and High queen of all the elves of Arven.
