You may note that the kitchen belongs to "Catherine." Catherine is not one of Quatre's sisters. She is his mother. I did not get this from the Americanization of Episode Zero (I found out later). Quatre's name is French for "four." I believe many people know this already, so when I heard read his mother's name, I assumed she was French. "Catherine" in French is pronounced "Kah-treen." In order to show where they got Quatre's name, they changed the spelling to "Quatrine." Does it not look closer to his name? Also, you do not confuse his mother with Trowa's surrogant sister. I prefer to spell her name Catherine; however, I assume both are correct since it is originally Japanese, and foreign names are written out phonetically. When you translate them, you can use a variety of different letters to make the same sounds. I also decided that she needed a maiden name, so I gave her "Jontea." This is just my imagination for my RPG and any stories I may later write in the future. It is not canon, and so technically her last name belongs to me.
Also, on a side note, I never read an official paper with Quatre's father's name, first name. He is always referred to as "Mr. Winner." Again, with my RPG and stories, I just had to give him a first name. I chose "Alim."

You may see their names pop up around the site, and since I made this site and these lists, I can put them up for no good reason at all. I cannot remember why the ages are during February AC 199 (maybe a fic?), so you'll just have to do the math in your head (hard, isn't it?) |
