Who Am I? Who Am I?
Hi, I'm Kaoru, which means "aroma" in Japanese. I live in California, far away from Broadway or West End!
I first fell in love with musical when I first saw the broadcast of West Side Story (George Chakiris was my first heartthrob), then I was hooked by musical when I saw A Chorus Line (production of Japanese theatre company, Shiki). I was so much love with the theatres, I wasn't satisfied with just being an audience, and I joined in the other side of the "orchestra pit " when I was in college.
I joined Neverland Musical Community which was student based amateur musical theatre company in Tokyo as an actress but doubled as an assistant lighting staff. We performed all original musicals equipped with our own musical band and, fortunately, a warehouses style theatre (Komaba Fringe Theatre). I belonged to the company for a little over two years, and it was one of my best time of my life.
I was away from theatres for a long time after I left the musical company; then, I saw Les Miserables 10th Anniversary Concert on TV and discovered Philip Quast, the definitive Inspector Javert. Ever since, I'm back into the theatre circuit. Thanks to the amazing power of Internet, I met many fabulous online friends literally from all over the world. These friends will help my Home Page grow into a fabulous site!
