Angel and The Burning Cross
submitted by Jeff

I've had three encounters with angels. I'll tell you about my first for now. It started out as a regular day at work. There was about two hours left in the day. My partner Forman, pm shift, our supervisor and a couple of employees were sitting back shooting the breeze and winding down the shift.

The phone rang and when I picked it up, it was my wife in near hysterics. She was crying about a cross burning in the back yard. The police had been called and were on their way. She had also called her sister and husband to come over. I told her I was on my way home and would be there in 15 minutes. I told my boss what was going on and he said get going. I ran to the car and got on the road as fast as I could.

My job is not far from home just long enough in the winter to get the inside warm, so I knew I could cut about five or seven minutes off of my time if i pushed it a little. In my own kind of panic I was trying to picture what had happened when suddenly I had a vision of someone laying across the roof of my house. This was the second time I had seen him. The first time was after a very frustrating day at work one of those days you just want to quit when I looked up from my window in the car and standing next to an old un used tank was a giant at least 10 feet tall. His hair was kind of medium brown with large curls he looked stern but very calm. The sight shocked so bad that I knew I was looking at one of God's own. He looked at me and I immediately calmed down and went home feeling blessed.

Now here he is again, laying across the roof of my home, looking into the back yard and blowing at something. The picture was so strong and suddenly it appeared amusing. I unknowingly slowed down and got home with this picture in my head but feeling as though everything was all right. When I walked in my wife was still a little upset but was a lot better because family were there with her. She started explaining the events. A neighbor had seen the cross and fire, but my wife couldn't understand why the two dogs we have didn't bark or even seem disturbed since both of them will bark even if a breeze blows to hard. They didn't even budge the whole evening.

An officer had come to the door to explain what he had found and asked for a garbage bag. It turned out that the cross was about 3 to 4 feet tall and soaked in gasoline. For some reason the ground around the cross was burned but the cross did not ig nite. The officer further stated that it looked like they tried to light it several times without any success before giving up and taking off before they were caught at the scene. He needed the garbage bags because it was saturated with the gas and wanted to make it safe to cart away. I told my wife what I had seen driving home. I told her not to worry about this anymore we are being watched and helped when we don't even know it, Thank God. Jeff
