History: J'aran's parents were both riders (father Blue, mother Green), so it's not surprising that he was the result of a Flight. his childhood was unmarked by any special tragedies, and he led a fairly normal life within the Weyr. ever since he was little, J'aran believed that he would Impress, which he did. both he and his Black were promoted to co-Wingseconds alongside his parents, but a few turns after he bonded with Cireth, his father was terminally wounded by Threadfall. his mother was so disturbed that both she and her dragon retired, leaving J'aran solely in the position of Wingsecond. but his old Weyr offered too many memories of his father, so J'aran requested a transfer to Quasar for a change of scenery. he doesn't care about keeping his Wingsecond rank, only about starting a new life in a new Weyr.
Personality: J'aran is soft-spoken but not afraid to take charge. he is a good leader in that he will not ask one of his wingmembers to do anything that he would not do himself. he does his best to not hold himself aloof because of his position--he despises self-importance.

Size, abilities, etc: average sized Black. Cireth is a quick flyer but has good stamina.
personality: much like his rider--both are a little on the quiet side, with a dry sense of humor. Cireth, however, is fearless when it comes to thread-fighting, and J'aran sometimes has to restrain his impulses.
