Two lovers,
doomed to be apart,
All because
of one cold heart.
They fell in love--
they couldn't resist--
And soon they were living
inside of a mist.
They never did notice,
for how could it be?
"How could anything come

Yet, it happened,
they just had to part,
Or they would risk
further hurting their hearts.
But they couldn't resist,
they must see each other!
And so they decided
to bear the wrath of another.
They thought they could do it,
how hard could it be?

It was so hard,
but they didn't care,
And they stayed together,
though life wasn't fair.
And finally it happened,
the other approved!
For how could he not--
he was suddenly moved!
The two did rejoice,
and knew it must be,
For "How could anything come
between me and thee?"
