Setsuki Kadokawa sighed and pressed her forehead against the cool glass window. The scenery blurred as the train sped by. She had spent about 6 hours on an airplane and another 2 on the train so far. She should arrive in Tokyo anytime now. She got up and stretched, her black tank top pulling up to reveal her tanned tummy. At aged 15 she stood at about 5'4. Her cold eyes were metalic blue and her long raven black hair fell into her eyes and tumbled over her shoulders. The teenager was on an exchange program from america, her parents thought she needed to get more 'in touch' with her heritage, though she had been raised to speak and write the language of her ancestors.
One of the atendants rapped on her cabin door and told her that they would be arriving in the station in about two minutes. She nodded and started gathering her things, pulling her jacket on over her tanktop. Her baggy black pants along with her combat boots and jacket seemed out of place in the lighted blue cabin. She pushed a strand of hair behind her ear and steadied herself as the train jolted to a stop. She slid open the door and walked to the front, pushing past people and ignoring the angry comments and rude gestures she got in return.
Setsuki stepped out of the train and onto the massive platform, proceding to the spot she was told to head by her parents before she left. She hadn't been standing there more than five minutes when she was rushed by a girl her age with flowing black hair much like her own. She was quite surprised when the girl gave her a hug and then bowed, blushing.
"I'm sorry, you must think Im nuts. I'm Kagome, your the exchange student Setsuki right?" she didn't give the girl a chance to anwer before proceeding, "You'll be living with me and my family for the school year, I'm so happy to have another girl to live in the....house...." she trailed off as if realizing something for the first time. Quickly, she switched to english, "I'm sorry, can you understand me?" Kagome's english was heavily accented and hardly understandable.
Setsuki sighed, "I could understand you fine." Her japanese was percise and it was obvious she had been speaking it her whole life.
"That's good. It seems Ive made an odd first impression, but we best be getting home, mother should have dinner by now. Sorry we have to walk, I'll help carry your stuff if you need. She shook her head,
"I can handle it." Kagome shrugged,
"Ok, we live up the hill at the shrine, so we better start walking now." Setsuki cocked her head to the side like something you would see a cat doing,
"Shrine?" The shorter girl nodded,
"Yup, grandpa runs it, it's so beautiful, the steps are marble and the cherry blossoms are gorgeous, and there's a bone eaters well, but its forbidden, unless you want to be eaten that is." Kagome concocted a story that she hoped sounded very convincing and frightining, hoping to scare Setsuki off now so she didnt accidentally discover the portal to Inu-Yasha's time later. >p>The girl feighned fear realizing how Kagome was trying so hard to scare her. She didnt want to come off as a coward, but she didnt want to make her feel bad seeing as how Kagome seemed so afraid of the well herself. Though the girl did not suceed in scaring her, only in peeking her interest about the place. For as long as she could remember, she had always been interested in the supernatural. Never having actually seen anything paranormal, the bone eaters well was a perfect place to look, according to Kagome, who so intently beleived that the demon actualy existed. Setsuki smirked, well, she'd just have to see for herself.
