Chapter2
Chronis jumped out of the way just in time for a sword to plow into the ground where he was standing. He looked up and saw a much more clear view of what was floating above the roof of the ruins. It was just what he thought it was.
It was his childhood friend, Damask."Damask! What the hell are you doing?" Chronis bellowed irritably.
"You just threw a freakin sword at me!" he protested."Last time I checked throwing swords at your friends wasn't a very nice thing to do!" Damask floated down and Chronis saw something that almost stopped his heart.
Damask's eyes were pure white and blood shot.
"Get down!" he warned Kiraya as a blast of fire came from Damask's hand.
"What's he doing?" Kiraya asked as she dodged another blast of fire.
"He is being controlled by the Gossans!" Kiraya looked confused
"The what now?" Chronis sighed, "You're going after n armor and you don't know what the Gossans are?"
Kiraya shook her head "Nope I have no clue." Chronis ran behind a rock and ducked as the top was blown off and a wave of heat swept over him. "The Gossans are the people that the Monarchic's evolved from! They have the ability to control a person's body. Only for about four weeks though!"
Kiraya rolled her eyes "oh yeah we can keep this up for four more weeks!" Chronis glared at her again "we don't need any smart ass remarks at the moment!” Chronis fumed. “Wait a minute I have an idea! See if you can find out where the Gossan is! I'll take care of the rest!" he shouted to her over the crumbling of more rocks they hid behind.
"How am I supposed to find that thing?" she asked Chronis. "You're a telepath right? So I don't know why don't you..USE TELEPATHY!" Chronis said sarcastically.
"All right but you're going to have to distract him!" she sat down and closed her eyes and Chronis watched her and a blast flew over her head causing a rock to fall down on top of her head and knock her unconscious.
Chronis heard a sickening crack and realized he had stepped out from behind the rock and punched the nearest thing to him, which happened to be the scaly, shelled Gossan.
He had broken his fist in the process and it was bleeding pretty badly. However, he had also managed to break something else, the Gossans hold on head open, which released his hold on Damask.
Damasks returned back to normal and he shook his head. Damask looked up and saw Chronis leaning over Kiraya it looked like he was shaking her. He walked over to where Chronis was and he was indeed shaking her. "Wake up! We don't have time for this!" he shouted.
Kiraya opened her eyes and smiled "such a nice nap" she mumbled."I thought I told you to watch my back!" she shouted at Chronis when she was fully conscious.
"Well you should have told me you couldn't move while you were doing that! A rock falling over your head is kind of easy to dodge! And besides you said to distract him!" Chronis argued back.
Kiraya looked confused and then said, "Well actually you do have a point there." Chronis smirked and stood up.
Damask, who was leaning against a wall, stood up straight and said, "Finally" and then he smirked, "you two sounded like an old married couple" he started giggling then fell on the ground rolling and laughing.
Chronis glared at him then picked him up and threw him. Damask unfurled his wings in midair and floated there, "geez Chronis you haven't changed a bit" he remarked then landed.
"No sense of humor" he mumbled. Chronis seemed to be back to his old self. "We have to go now," he pointed out simply, but he couldn't help wonder why they didn't want them in there.
He finally decided that it had nothing to do with anything special, it only had to do with the fact that the armors were in there and they were preventing them from getting them. Kiraya was walking towards the entrance and for once she noticed him lagging behind.
Then she saw the puddle of blood that was forming under his left hand on the ground. "Ummm Chronis you're sorta bleeding." Chronis looked down at his arm "uh huh, so?" Kiraya slightly cocked her head to the side "ummm puddles of blood? Pain? Any of these ringing any bells?" she asked.
Chronis shrugged "nope" he replied simply. Kiraya sighed and walked over to him then took a pack that Chronis just now noticed, opened it, and took out a bandage "put it on" She demanded.
"No thanks" Chronis replied. Kiraya stared defiantly at him "now!" she shouted. "All right, all right, fine" he took the bandage and put it on "happy now?" he asked.
Kiraya smiled "yup!" They then started to walk to the ruins when Chronis stopped, turned around and said, "Damask report back to the capitol for treatment." Damask looked at him "what treatment?" He asked.
"I killed the Gossan" he replied simply. Damask sighed, unfolded his wings, and flew toward the capitol. Chronis turned back around and walked towards the ruins again. He finally caught up with Kiraya as soon as he got there she asked, "Why did he have to get treatment?"
Chronis looked straight ahead but replied, "If you kill a Gossan while it is controlling someone it injects a poison into their mind that kills them we have an antibody that works for about three weeks but then we have to get a vaccination." Kiraya simply said "Oh." As soon as they got into the temple took an orb out of his pack and mumbled something under his breath and the orb immediately lit up. They took another three steps forward and Chronis, who was in the lead, ducked as three spears flew over his head.
He sighed "this is going to be a long four days." Then he kept walking ducking every once in awhile to avoid spears that flew over his head. He leapt over a pit but then heard rocks fall and a scream, he looked down the pit and gasped. Kiraya was hanging on to the edge and one of her wings was broken. "Chronis help me!" she whispered and then blacked out, letting go with her fingers so she fell into the darkness.
Was it any good? E-mail me and tell me if I should continue it.
