Emma was awarded a McMyn scholarship to study with Peter Cropper (of the Lindsay Quartet) at the University of Manchester, where she led the Symphony, Sinfonietta and String Orchestras. In November 2001, she performed the Brahms Violin Concerto with the University's Symphony Orchestra and in 2002 was awarded a Proctor-Gregg Prize for solo performance. Emma graduated with a First Class Honours Degree that year. Since the summer 2002, Emma has been a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra with whom she has performed extensively throughout Europe with conductors Vladimir Ashkenazy, James Conlon, and Bernard Haitink.
On entering the Royal Northern College of Music, Emma was presented with the Swanston Scholarship and in December 2003 was awarded Second prize in the Salon Prize. Emma studies with Yossi Zivoni and has just been awarded her Postgraduate Diploma in Performance with Distinction.
