They aren't waiting anymore |
|

|
Quarter Pole Downs - Green Meadows doesn't have to wait any longer. Waiting, a black filly by Secretariet, broke her maiden impressively beating 6 colts. There was only one other filly in the field of 7 two year olds. Waiting, settled into the pack and took the lead with one furlong left to go. With every stride, the filly opened up an even larger lead against her competition. Down The Rail Stable's chestnut colt Classic Cat finished second, ahead of Fantastic Fellow, a Roberto colt ownd by Gainesway. We can expect Waiting to enter the picture in a big way before the breeders cup, I can see her in the Juvenile Fillies. |

Maybe it's something in the Water? |

Quarter Pole Downs - There has got to be something in the water the horses from West Point Farms are drinking! Never has a stable made such an impact like this farm has. Bringitallback finished a bang up first in her maiden special weight at Quarter Pole Downs this weekend. The cute grey, sired by Free House, knows how to run and has shown us her stuff. West Point's greys seem to be doing wonderfully, although their most impressive horse is the chestnut filly, Back Here. Watch out for West Point, they seem to know their stuff! |

Quarter Pole Downs - It was possibly the most exciting race of the day, at Quarter Pole Downs. For the first time, we had a 4 way photo finish. As Fastness came around the final turn, nobody thought he could find racing room, but bravely snuck in by the rail. Each and every horse was trying their hardest, was Fastness proves to be the fastest of the pack. 2nd place went to Don't Let Go, a Silver Buck filly owned by Green Meadows. 3rd went to Morning Glory, owned by Down The Rail Stables and fourth, by just a whisker went to Rascalz, a Storm Cat colt owned by West Point. |

As Quick As A Cat |

Quarter Pole Downs - White Brook Farm had one maiden entered into Maiden Day, and that maiden is no more. Eastern Cat broke his maiden in an aggresive and assertive race. Eastern Cat was boxed at the start of the race, and by the half of the 6 furlong race, he still had no racing room. There was no room to go to the rail, so jockey Edgar Prado, made a sudden swing to the outside, and had to go 4 wide before they found racing room. Eastern Cat won the race by a head over the Green Meadows colt, No Matter What. |
