So to summarize, the events in question are:

1. Porno in a handheld computer

Did not happen, although it is based on a similar event. The event that really happened was this: fed up with his communist masters, a guy in China downloaded a pornographic story and bound it into an American English textbook. The story was in English. His communist masters forced him to work a year without pay at one of their labor camps.

2. Coupons to the sick

Happened. One of the food companies I once worked for in the mid 1990’s actually sent coupons for the exact same product that made a customer nearly deathly ill. I had to handle the call after she received the coupons. Needless to say, she was not a happy camper.

3. Must send things overnight

Did not happen. I’ve never had a campaign that required people to send things overnight.

4. Kid that only said his first name, refused to spell it.

Happened. In the mid 1990’s I worked on a campaign similar to this, and got this kid. Lord knows what he’s doing now.

5. Repairman leaves suddenly to buy a car.

Happened. This occurred about 4 months ago at the job I’m in now. A technician was sent out to repair things, and then suddenly left to go buy a car, according to the customer. The tech was fired two days later.

6. Customer wants to talk to president of company – right now!

Happened. From 1999-2000 I worked at a videogame company, and an irate customer demanded to talk to the president of the company immediately. I informed him that we do not have access to the president’s number. It took the head of the department 45 minutes to get this guy off the phone.

7. Survey asks if mothballs are exciting

Happened. The first job I ever had back in the mid 1980’s was at a market research company. Although the product was not mothballs, it was about as exciting.

8. Customer refuses to allow technician to plug in refrigerator

Happened. In the company I work for now, a technician went out to a job and told the customer that the reason why his device (which shall remain nameless) wasn’t working was due to it not being plugged in. The customer was pretty angry, and refused to see reason. It took a supervisor 30 minutes to get him off the phone.

9. Generic Moongirl calls

Did not happen, although it could be construed as having happened. Being bilingual (English and Spanish) I’ve had to take calls from people who didn’t speak Spanish and talk to them in Spanish.

10. Woman uses sexy voice to manipulate guy.

Did not happen, although I’ve had several women try to use a sexy voice to get what they wanted from me. Many of them wanted me to break the rules, and I always refused.
