Wait, Wait, Wait in the stillness
Wait there's a gathering new light
Wait, Wait, Wait in the silence
Wait with the Children of Light

Come gently to worlds that are new.
Surrender yourself and be still.
Abandon your wisdom and will
To die in the silence in you.
At first let your thoughts overflow
When doubts and distractions persist.
Don't struggle and try to resist
But tenderly learn to let go.

Wait…..

Temptations and troubles appear
Then sink into that which is pure.
Submit to the things that are sure
And all will be hushed and be clear.
Then that which is evil will melt
And that which is good be upraised
And shaken you'll stand so amazed.
Th kingdom of heaven is felt

Wait……

The light is the love that would free;
It lies as the ground of us all.
It shows that which tempts us to fall.
It heals and allows us to be.
Wait in the light for the power.
Now, wait upon God for his peace.
Deep in the heart it will flower,
Seed ever seeking release

It is an ordinary event but an extraordinary, mysterious process.
The needs of our Inner lives for peace and healing and meaning cry out………………

True silence is to the spirit what sleep is to the body, nourishment and refreshment.
Silence is the royal road to God.

This simplicity of worship was the new, deep experience of many women and men in the mid sixteen-hundreds. They searched for ways to make worship more direct and real. It was a time when England was in the middle of a civil war.

That movement of seekers was given a voice by a weavers son who travelled throughout the land with a prophetic challenge. He was the pioneer and visionary George Fox.
