The trackers of choice are Impulse Tracker and Fast Tracker 2. I'd discourage people
from using ScreamTracker since it is long since outdated, but even so people can learn on
it as well. As far as more information that is immediately accessible is concerned, here's
some links :)
Sites
- "The Zen of Tracking" is a site that people can learn to track on... this is a
good place to actually LEARN the fundamentals, since many who download trackers are
somewhat daunted. Nice educational site. http://www.hornet.org/info/zentrack/
- "Maz's Sound Tools" is a great one-stop site for getting tracking programs,
samples, info on soundcards, converters, and generally everything else under the sun. http://www.maz-sound.com/
- "Hornet". The Hornet page is the official US web page for the demo / PC music
"scene". Lots of awesome info, the latest demos, Music Competitions, a huge
archive of files ranging from demos to music to intros to you name it. Just a cool place
to get acquainted with tracking and demos in general. http://www.hornet.org
