2001 Dodge Dakota's are Diff.
If you have visited your local Chrysler dealership and looked at the 2001 Dodge Dakota's, you will notice some changes. The major difference that I noticed was the dash board. Its completly different in appearence. Its very squarish looking, some people like it, but I'm not all that impressed. Also the front bumpers are no longer metal, there plastic. I guess Chrysler finally woke and got smart. The other puzzleing thing i noticed was they  removed the emblem off the side front fender indicating what engine the truck has. I'm not sure why they did that. The trucks are also equipped from the factory with child seat anchors/teather bolts. Overall they they get a passing grade. Oh ya they have a 5/100 powetrain warrenty. Not bad eh!
Gas Mileage at all time high
I'm approaching my16th month with my truck and my gas mileage is still getting better.  I'm getting on average 500kms/90L. I think thats incredible. But I took a trip down to Louisville Ky. and on  the way back I pushed the envelope of gas mileage to an unreal level. I got 680kms/90L tank. WOW! In the begining I never got more than 425kms/90L but in recent months its been improving tank by tank. I understand this is all highway driving, and with regular driving this would never happen. It is comforting to no that V8 engines can produce good gas milage.

I will continue to monitor my gas mileage and when I go on my next trip which will be this fall, I'll post the results once again, right here in The Quadcab Report.

TSB's that Affect your Dakota
When visiting your local dealership and your having your Dakota serviced you must ask your Service Advisor what TSB's (Technical Service Bulletins) are either available or affect your Dakota. Customers will never no idea what they are as they are not advised that there even available.
Chrsyler only advises the dealership about these TSB's. A TSB is a repair procedure to a common complaint from customer's. Chrysler will then come up with a repair to correct this concern. They are covered under warranty while your car is under warranty. When you vehicle's warranty expires you have to pay for the TSB repair.

Don't forget to ask your Service Advisor about your TSB's. They are available for all cars, vans and trucks.
Changes coming to your Quadcab Report!!!
