how do i rate this drama...well, it had the potential to be really good, but it wasn't. lol. first of all, it was too long. kept dragging on and on and on and on! second, the actors aren't very good, imo. i don't watch too many korean dramas so i've never seen them in other series so i can't compare their performance, but based on what i've seen, they need to find another job. i felt that they were all too stiff.
 | suh-jin (will)...was ok. out of the four main, i would rate him as the best. he does a really good sad. his happy is pretty good too, but i don't like his smile, so what can i say? lol. i do'nt like his face either. |
eun-joo (ji-eun)...i really didn't like her at all, until the very end. at the beginning, i thot she was much too immature. but i suppose her acting there was good. it's just in the middle, she was so dead and lifeless. i mean, i understand that her character had been through some tough times, but she was just so...passive...and lifeless. i do'nt know how to describe it. but then, at the end, she was this big "brand manager" (whatever that means), she became lively again. i was so happy. so basically, i liked ji-eun for like half an episode. so sad. plus, at the end, her clothes got better. more flattering clothes. i swear, throughout the whole drama i was sitting there questioning eun-joo's taste in clothing. they were just so ugly! i mean, poor people can have nice clothes too! young-eun dressed well. in any case, i'm glad to know that she DOES know how to dress herself. and i hated when eun-joo cried. i swear she sounds like a wailing cat that's about to die. i hate it. can't she just sob quietly? it'd have the same effect. it'd also be less distracting.
eric...i hear that he's a rapper and this is his acting debut. i want to be careful about what i say about him because i want to separate the actor from the character. i'll go into the character first. i despised jung-min. he was alright at the beginning when he was "courting" ji-eun because he was witty and such, but after he found out about sae-hoon, he was so unlikable. he couldn't compete so he decides to drag sae-hoon down. and not only that, he has to go to his daddy for help! please. if you can't win her heart yourself, then let her go. be a man! when it comes to jung-min, for some reason, the adage "va't le^n ddu*o*.c thi` bo? xuo^'ng ddu*o*.c". it doesn't go exactly like that, but more or less. literally, it means if you can pick it up, you can put it down. basically, it means if you're going to pursue something, you should be able to let it go? iono. anyway, as for his acting....it wasn't TOO bad...for his first time. i'll just leave it at that.
i hated how it was always so awkward when jung-min, ji-eun, and sae-hoon ran into each other in any combination. it's like, get over yourselves. at least PRETEND that you don't care for the sake of others. everytime they run into each other, it's like i see you, you see me, stop, stare the other to death. ugh. so annoying. especially jung-min and sae-hoon. i mean, i understand that they're "ti`nh ddi.ch" but it doesn't always have to be so awkward. at least they resolved it in the end, which, by the way, i liked. the writers did a very good job ending it. i really didn't know how they would end it happily.
oh, and i did not feel for mi ran at all. i didn't feel sorry for her. [frankly, i didn't really understand her motivation for doing all that she did] i didn't hate her. at most, she was just annoying. like a mosquito buzzing around your head that just won't leave. i guess she was just there to cause drama and make it difficult for will and ji-eun. however, i did feel a tad bad for her in the end, before she committed suicide. that moment was somewhat bittersweet. i had been wishing that she would just die because she was so annoying, but i was sad that she had killed herself. i guess i was hoping that she would come to terms with herself and let will go. too bad. and what was up with that funeral picture? it was so horrible. like a mug shot. anyway, needless to say, because i didn't feel anything for her character, her acting isn't too hot. although, for the most part, i liked her clothing.
other than the ending, i would say taht the only good part is the relationships between bok-ja, yeo-jin, young-eun, and ho-jin. that was enuf incentive to make me keep watching the drama. well, that and because i HAD to know how it ended.
bottom line: thumbs down. |
