Becoming parents to 5 children all of a sudden; is it good news or not for this newlywed couple?
this drama is alright. there are some really good parts, but there are also some parts that are kinda boring. i actually finished this one about a week ago (on sunday) but i've had no internet access. T-T so sad. but i'm at school now so here i am!
well anyways, starting with jessica [since she is my new favorite artist]: jess was alright. at her usual caliber and her usual type of role. [if you don't know by now, she usually plays strong, independent, (and in modern dramas, career-oriented) women] nothing special. but she is oh-so-cute when she pouts!!! i realize that she's getting a bit old....[34] but she doesn't look it. i think she can still pull off a pout. :pleased:
have i ever mentioned that i absolutely love watching her walk away from ppl? [as in breaking up with them, breaking both their hearts] it's kinda sadistic, i know, but she really does it well. i guess she's just really good at looking torn.
joe: i don't like this guy, period. i don't know if it's the roles he plays or the way he acts or what. i just don't like him. i didn't like him in lady fan and i didn't like him here. only other place i remember seeing him is in triumph in the skies and i wasn't crazy about him in there either. i liked him better than i did the other 2 series, but still, not good enuf. i don't think he's lead material. maybe i'll change my mind later. who knows. but for now, all this guy has going for him is his height. but he's too skinny. makes it look kinda awkward.
 | don li is so cute when he smiles!!!!!!!! :pleased::pleased::pleased: and he has an awesome singing voice!! i think i've fallen in love!!! lolol. jk! he's cute like roger's (kwok) cute. only when they smile, and kinda in the babyish/boyish kind of way. their smiles just make me melt. ^-^ |
 | and best of all was TIFFANY TSE!!! this girl is the cutest thing ever!!! you just HAVE to see her! and everytime she cries, she makes me want to cry. *snifflez* she's just so good at it. i really liked her character too. she could be so mature and innocent at the same time. *smileZ* i think i would watch this drama just for her. [she's that cute] |
kiki: i don't see what all the hype about her is all about. she has a decent singing voice, and she's a relatively decent actress, but other than that, imo, she doesn't have much going for her.
i don't really have anything to say about any of the other actors or characters. oh, except maybe rebecca chan. i hated her character at times.
i felt this drama was almost like an asian vesion of 7th Heaven in the first season. it's definitely not as scandelous. it's much more simple and cute. this is a drama that is packed with feel-good moments. i really liked that. and it raises a lot of modern day issues, particularly in raising a family. but because this drama is packed with feel-good moments and viewers know that it's meant to be a feel-good drama, in the very back of your mind, you know that every just has to work out, but you really can't help wondering...what if it doesn't? keeps you hooked but sometimes, there problems are just like...AUGH!! *hehe*
some of my favorite parts (in no particular order): ~ the intro, where tiffany's narrating and setting up the story. usually, i don't like it when they set up the story that way cuz it's just too bland for me, but i think the writers/director pulled this one off well. ~ the ending, with the fish. *keke* also the ending when jess was hiding under the blanket on the couch. i just love her expression when joe pulled back the blanket. ~ the part where jess thot she was pregnant and she was all upset that night and she was all pouty and said "i don't care. it's all your fault! >.<" and went to sleep. ~ also when jessica thot she was pregnant: when tiffany was all jealous of the new baby. i'm talking about the scene when she's playing cinderella and the rest of the cast is yelling at her and she starts crying cuz she thinks she's really cinderella. poor poor baby!!! ~ when don and kiki broke up. that was so mature!! i had a whole new respect for don after that. ~ when the fong kids found out their dad died and they all gathered on the eldest brother's bed and looked at old photos and just cried. and when they were watching the video disk their dad left them. i couldn't help but cry. just really hit home for me. ~ near the end, the whole scene in the mall w/ joe, jess, mimi, and rebecca. i thought that was hilarious. 4 adults running like mad thru a mall. *hahaha* ~ joe and jess's reunion in her apartment in la!!! one of my most favorite scenes. that reunion was long overdue. from when he's walking around her apartment and realizing how difficult her life was there and how much she really cared about the family up to after she ate the noodles he bought for her. *smileZ* ~ when jess decided to go stay at auntie laura's apartment. i liked how she was always like "well could've gone that extra step to make me feel better" ~ the anniversary bit
*hehe* for a 3-star drama, i sure have a lot of favorite moments, huh? well, like i said, this drama was packed with feel-good moments. the only reason i give it so few stars is cuz the problems are kind "la^?m ca^?m" and it gets kind of boring.

bottom line: good to pass the time, but not especially engaging. |
