The American series is also kind of messed up. They started with the eighth episode. I was so confused when I first saw it. The reason behind this is because they wanted the show to be a girl's and boy's show, so they started with the episode that introduces Li. I think that's weird. I mean, come on! It's obvious that Sakura is the main character! They don't have to do that...
Another thing. In the American series, Meilin is first introduced in the episode where she's a new foreign exchange student. In the Japanese series, Meiling is introduced in the episode right before she becomes a new foreign echange student. It was the episode with the Move Card. Sakura got wet and Syaoran offered to lend her some clothes. So, with Sakura and Tomoyo, they go to his house and Syaoran gives Sakura some clothes. Then, you see this taxi drive up and two chinese shoes stepping out. She comes in in a state like, "Hey, Syaoran! It's me!" And when she sees Sakura in the shirt Syaoran gave her to put on, she's really mad about that because that's the shirt she bought for him. Then, in the next episode where she's a new student, Sakura Avalon asks Li, "Li, do you know that girl?"(meaning that Sakura doesn't know who this girl is and she's asking if Li does) while Sakura Kinomoto says, "Ah, I see. She's your cousin," and that's when Meiling storms up to Syaoran and tells Sakura to back off because Syaoran is HER cousin and fiance. The only way to get out of this mess for the American series is if they cut out the part where Meiling first comes in Episode 19. Now, if anyone understands what I just said, then you're very lucky... |
