| 4 of the best Rangers eased past bogey side Horsley with four of the post. Even an injury to the Jinxed Graham Seddon could not break the attacking stride. Two early goals, from Paul Ottaway and Kev Ruddell laid the foundations, with the defence on top form in the sun, and the midfield purring the lead was not threatened, apart from a sreies of goal line clearances by Toombs in the second half. Paul volleyed in to extend the lead, and johhny Poole added the fourth to round of the afternoon. Well playted lads! |
3 Points at the second attempt A solitary Paull Ottaway tap in was enough to gain 3 points for the Rangers. After drawing a blank against Hindhead the goal and win came as a relief. Rangers soaked up a lot of pressure, but always looked threatening on the break. Young Ottaway tapped in to round off a slick passing movement, and later hit the post with a 30 yard stunner. Minutes later Skip hit the cross bar, and then Granit should have netted to make the game safe. A good battling performance- we might need plenty more of that this season. On yer bike Mike? After the game, players were stunned to hear that Mike Young had parted company with the club. A Club spokesman said " We are all disappointed, he will be missed, but we wish him every success with his new venture in Woking." Bon Voyage Mike- all the best!! |
