Poems (Shayri)

A Sher is basically a poem of 4 lines. In Marathi language, it is called as 'Charoli'. Here are the shayris which were included in QQP. I am giving the translations with them so those who don't know Urdu, Hindi or Marathi too can enjoy them.

1)

Every day ends in the dark. Every dawn burns away the night. You should not lose your confidence at any cost. Because, no matter how is the time (good or bad), it changes someday.

2)

Play the role of an enemy with 100%. But keep one thing in mind. If you become friends again, you must not feel ashamed.

3)

There is no reason for anyone to cry. The whole world goes through good and bad times. If we think about the moon, imagine how he keeps glowing, with darkness on all sides !

4)

No one knows about the future. The thing is that, whatever be the situation, we should always be ready to face it.

5)

a

A log of wood can also have foliage. What else could be a better example of desire to live?

6)

Don't assume that the flow of the river will not change. Don't assume that that the slope of the mountain will remain unchanged. The whole scenario will change. If you change a little bit, if we change a little bit, the entire world will change.

7)

If we smile, people think that it is our habbit of smiling. But they don't know, it is one of the methods of hiding the sorrows.

8)

Usually everyone has an equal chance in this world. But he, who takes up the challenge, who bares the risk, has the whole world in his hand. He is the real winner.

9)

The thing where nobody knods his head is not respectable. The head which is knodded at everything is not worth respecting.

10)

Being tired of work rest but don't stop. Every thing is alive by unending effort.

11)

Have enthusiasm , obsession, stubbornness to win. Have a tide of passion in your heart for your goal.

12)

The meaning is : The life which I lived till now, was not life at all. Once I ( my heart ) was broken in such a way; that I could never recover at all.

13)

The meaning : The place where I stand today, somebody else might be standing in the past. Afterall, this is a different time and that was also a different time.

14)

The meaning : I have seen all things come and go in this world. I have seen the old age which comes but never goes. And also the youth, which once gone, never comes back.

15)

Meaning : Make thorns your friends and love obstacles. Be charged always with spirits of courage .

16)

The Meaning: The Road to the peak is always full of curves, still you should cover each turn smilingly.

17)

Note: It is difficult for me to explain the meaning of this poem. If anybody of you know the exact meaning, please send it to all including me on the group address. i.e. [email protected]

18)

Meaning: Every one has faults, [yet] every one is God's child. Make friendship with all; big men and small.

19)

Meaning: Let's hug ,and hug each other with happiness. Who has ever gained by petty quarrels?

20)

Meaning: Once someone's eyes are set upon the destination, he is not bothered about any threats on the way.

21)

Meaning: When I remember my past, tears come out of my eyes. I remember those precious moments. I forget all the things around me, when I think of friends like you.

22)

Meaning : This is an inspirational sher (4 liner). In this sher, the poet talks about a small light. The light is challenging the skies to bring a storm. This challenge by the small light tells us about the strength of the heart. The light cannot survive even a small breeze. But still he has the mental strength, the guts, to face even a storm. Mental strength is vital at every single step of our life. If your heart is weak, you cannot use your abilities properly. As it is rightly said by someone - 'Don't give up even if you die. At least, your spirit will survive.'

23)

Meaning : This cruel world won't let you live peacefully. If you want to survive, you must create a storm.
