Club Crest
(another beautiful piece by Tim)
Behold, our Sacred Crest worn with pride on the chest of each and every Gardenia, once we can find a willing sponsor. The KA Crest epitomizes the very spirit of the Club, serving to remind the Kakas of the Club's humble but honourable traditions and at the same time inspiring them to greater feats of sporting excellence.

The Crest bears the famed blue and yellow of the KA home strip, a colour combination our numerous and worthy adversaries have rightly learned to fear and respect over the years. Bright Yellow symbolises the eternal cheerfulness and never-say-die attitude of the team. Even referees have been suitably impressed with this commendable trait of ours, expressing their approval through their vehement flashing of cards of the same colour each time our player rises to the occasion to reveal their true grit and determination. The shades of Regal Blue hint subtle reference to our faces after the first 15 minutes of each half.
The letters "k" and "a", are discreetly positioned, and in lower case because really, we are not the type to indulge in self-importance and bask in self-glorification.

The 7 stars that shine ever so brightly on the Crest represent the 8 Founding Principles the of the Club; Friendship, Loyalty, Brotherhood, Integrity, Intelligence,  Maturity, Courtesy and Racial Equality. Friendship brought the team together at the very beginning. Loyalty is the stoic allegiance we pledge to the Club. Brotherhood refers to the heterosexual nature of the wholesome love that binds us together through thick and thin. Integrity teaches us never to dive, Intelligence enables us to stray offside without being penalized, and Maturity is the way we pick ourselves up like real men after every dive. Courtesy and Racial Equality reflect the Club's recognition of the moral and social responsibilities in the community that is expected of an institution as established and influential as Kallang Alternative.

Avid followers of the Club will of course remember the vocal tribute Club Captain Ho Kum Luen paid to the the 7 Stars in his touching and memorable rendition of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars". This limited edition single was recorded at the now-defunct Carmina Studios and also features a bonus track by the legendary Mr Air-con himself.

The appearance and significance of the unverified object which occupies the strategic focal position on the Crest remains a mystery till this very day. Although no one has satisfactorily proven beyond a doubt what the object is, a popular theory suggests that it is actually a human hand viewed from an unusual perspective. Scholars are keen to highlight the presence of the neat and well-manicured "fingernails", which they concur is representative of the high standards of personal hygiene and ,in some cases, narcissistic vanity said to be practiced by the Club's members.
