I first climbed the panda's thumb in November 1997 with Peter Scott,
of
NZ, this was documented in Rock and Ice (number 89 i think)
our route was climbed entirely on natural gear, we started in
the cave
left of HNY and followed the roof crack to the right and up to
the left
of HNY to the terrace, at the terrace we moved left in to the
groove
marked in Red on your topo, we continued to the top, we then
abseiled
and left a few bits of cord and as far as i remember a wired
nut
(number 6 or 7?) on the terrace....
[About the route Colin Spark added]
...the route name was "paparazzi pete" about 5.9
named as we had a friend who is a photographer
taking many photographs of my-self and pete...
