Practicing is an important part of being prepared for a competition. With sufficient practice a contestant can elimante any nervousness during a competition. Here are some guidelines for practicing:
- If you can practice once every day, that's great. Simply spend twenty minutes a day.
- See if someone is willing to listen to you practice. They can offer advice; plus, the more you practice in front of people the better you'll be.
- Go over your piece once, mark any additions, cuts or voice inflections you would like to make. Then do your piece one more time.
- That's it. Practicing every day, going over your piece twice, can easily prepare you for qualifying for finals.
