To be your true self

 

To never again be the sex you were born may be much harder than you think,

You may be assured that it is certainly not something that can be changed in a wink.

There are psychiatrists to be really convinced that you do need a change of face,

Before you will be accepted again as that person you now wish to replace.

 

So when you start down this road there is only one way that you can go,

If you’ve made your decision to proceed then you must go on with the show.

For their can be no questioning ever of that decision you’ve taken,

You must make doubly sure that there’s no way you’re mistaken.

 

It’s easy to think that a change of sex will make all of your dreams come true,

But before you take this one-way road there are some things that you need to do.

You really need to know the person inside and not the mask that you now wear,

And when and if you are really convinced then you will have nothing to fear.

 

So the balls in your court now dear friend, I’ll leave this lifelong decision to you,

Just as long as you realise the full implications of this change that you wish to do.

Try living in role for a while and maybe for much longer while you think it through,

Before you make that one-way decision my friend, and now the rest is all over to you!
