Rome, Italy, 1993
These are various pictures from the trip I took with my high-school to Rome in 1993. This was so long ago that I don't remember what many of these pictures were. It was a great trip though and a great way to explore another culture. I hope to visit Europe again very soon.
To the left are two views from the ground in St. Peter's Square. The bottom picture is facing the Basilica, and the top is facing in the opposite direction.
To the left are two views from the top of St. Peter's Basilica. This was an exhausting climb-even higher than the Statue of Liberty! It was a great view though, and worth the climb. We needed the exercise anyway to work off all the gelati(Italian ice cream) that we ate!
To the left are two views of St. Paul's Basilica, where St. Paul is buried. The top picture is the altar directly over the tomb of St. Paul. The bottom picture is the outside of the church.
Directly above is a picture of the Alps in Italy taken from the plane. Above that picture is a picture of the Trevi fountain in Rome.
To the right are pictures of the Colosseum(top) and the Roman Forum(bottom). Directly below are two pictures of ruins at Pompeii. The ruins sit in the shadow of the volcano that destroyed it, Mt. Vesuvius. The volcano is still active, so it can erupt at any time, possibly killing any tourists unlucky enough to be visiting the ruins.
