| I have started a yahoogroups list for information and chat about the Fiber Artist Trading Cards, and swapping them. I will be posting vital informaton about Swaps on [email protected] and the yahoo list FiberATCs. Here is where you can join the list- http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FiberATC/ or send an email to [email protected] Please email me if you would like to join a swap. Here are the guidelines- What is an Artist Trading Card (ATC)? It's a 2.5" x 3.5" piece of art, made to be exchanged with other artists. This is the same size format as sports trading cards, They are a way to experiment with different techniques on a really small scale, and to see what other artists are doing in their work. Most of all they are fun to make and to collect! See the links below for more information and example of 'paper' ATC's. They do not have to be like the current paper ATCs. They need to be your own work, using what you would like. Paper examples: http://www.cedarseed.com/air/atc.html http://www.tracyroos.com/ATC.htm http://www.artchixstudio.com/gswap_Summer03.htm All Swaps will have a theme. Please email me for what theme is going on right now. Think about the theme- Have your 'signature' design, color, technique...Whatever your heart desires. Something about you and the theme, what you feel, what inspires you, what you want to share with others. Each must be an original work of art, no copies of someone else work, please. You may number them as they will go in swappers collection of quilt art. Since we are a group of fiber artists from the quilting arts, each card should use fibers/textiles, fabric, threads, embelishments, in some way. Anything you might include in a Quilt. You may work on a paper base or just use layers of fabric, whatever you come up with to use as a base. But please use fabrics/textiles in the card, 3D ATC's are more than welcome in this swap and embellishments are great! Please be sure everything is sewn on or otherwise securely attached. The size of each ATC must be 2.5" x 3.5". The shape does not have to be rectangular, but it must fit within this size limit. But feel free to use different shaped corners or edges on your cards. Try to stay less than 3/8" thick. Be sure to sign and date the back of your card. You can also include contact information or anything else you want to share with the recipient. You may want to number them as an indication of their uniqueness. Please send them in sets of 10, up to 4 sets. (40 total) Every set of 10 should be different. A different design, color, embellishment etc. If they are delicate send them in individual baggies. You will need to include a self-addressed return envelope with enough postage to send your swapped ATC's back to you. Email me or my address when you are ready to mail. and if you have any questions.
