Second Pyramid
After descending the first pyramid to the saddle with the second pyramid, contour around the second pyramid until close to the north east corner.
The chimney (see the photo) is the safest ascent route but the base of it does feel awkward as you have to come out before you can start working upwards.
Next above the chimney you will need to move to the left to ascend and make sure the rock is quite dry and your shoes are grippy as a slide will be deadly here. The only difficulty is steppng up over a ledge (halfway up the second photo)and then it is easy from here. Descending can be done safer by dropping down onto a ledge above and west of the chimney and then chimneying into the crack below before following this around to the chimney in the first photo.
Mt Norman
An alterantive ascent of Mt Norman was discovered by getting in behind the eye of the needle
and traversing up and around the north east side until the saddle between the two sides of Mt Norman
is reached. A great exercise in chimneying!
I have camped twice in the creek to the east of Mt Norman. It seems to be a nice place to escape people
and both times I have camped the water flow was good and it seems to be a good base for future exloration.
Bald Rock to Mt Norman
A less well explored region but lots of tracks in the area. From the top of bald rock drop down towards the west and find a track heading south to south west. This will lead to South Bald Rock which is one of the best granite sections of the park as it is largely one huge chunk of rock. Further West is Mid and West Bald Rock also worth exploring. I am sure there is a better alternative for some but I enjoyed a bush bash westwards from granite to granite to eventually get to Mt Norman Car park
