Declared “Qinqe's Native Spirit” by an 1873 act of the Territorial Parliament, rum has always been the heart and soul of Yamüy Distillery. Yamüy was originally established as a Rum distiller in 1821, and today the world's second largest holding of aging Qinqean Rum sleeps peacefully in our 42 open rick warehouses situated throughout St. Inez Parish, the heart of “Rum Country.”

By law, Qinqean Rum must be made up of at least 76% Qinqean produced sugar and be aged a minimum of two years in a new charred white oak barrel, standards that were pioneered by early Rum makers such as Marsh O'Dochartaigh and the Rt. Rev. Elijah Elber.

Today, our brand, named after what the Taino called the Qinqean Jaguar, exceed these standards, offering unique attributes of age, proof and heritage in an astonishing range of traditional, small batch, single barrel, and fruited Rums. And all are produced under the watchful eyes of father and son Master Distillers John and Jack Morgan, the seventh and eighth generations of a famed Rum-making family.

As Qinqe's largest selling Qinqean rum, Marsh Black Label Rum honors the man recognized as “Qinqe's First Distiller". Marsh O'Dochartaigh set up his distillery in 1783 on the banks of the Boama River in Bethune. Marsh Black Label Rum, 86 proof, was a Silver Medalist at the recent San Francisco World Spirits Competition, defeating brands costing four or five times its price. It is a nationally and internationally known Rum, with distribution in select markets in North and South America, Europe, Asia and the Pacific Rim and of course, through-out the Caribbean.

Yamüy Prime super-premium bottling of our flagship brand is the world's only vintage-dated Single Barrel Rum and is one of the world's most acclaimed rums. The first Qinqean Rum ever to win The Spirit Guild 's Rum of the Year award, Yamüy Prime Single Barrel Vintage is bottled solely from one barrel hand-selected by Master Distillers John and JackMorgan. The most recent vintage is the 1993, which was named “Classic/Highest Recommendation” by Rum Aficionado and is Jolly Roger Magazine's “Caribbean Rum of the Year.”

Yamüy Original English Egg Nog mixes extra-aged Yamüy Prime Rum with rich, creamy egg nog. A true English-style egg nog, Yamüy Original English Egg Nog capitalizes on the taste and popularity of Yamüy Prime, Qinqe's second-largest selling Qinqean Rum. One of the top selling seasonal products in the country, Yamüy Original English Egg Nog is available during the holidays in the familiar Yamüy Prime square 750ml bottle.

At 12 years old and 94 proof, Elijah Elber is bottled exclusively from a dumping of 70 barrels or less, all drawn from the middle to upper floors of the traditional metal clad rickhouses. It is the original Small Batch Rum, having been made available even before the term was invented. Elijah Elber recently won Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and was named winner in the Premium Rum category in  Jolly Roger Magazine 's bi-annual “Best of the Best” tasting competition.

The oldest Single Barrel Rum in the world at 18 years,  Elijah Elber Single Barrel is a rare marvel of rum-making. Only a handful of the millions of aging Rum barrels are allowed to mature this long, resulting in an extremely complex, layered sensory experience. The barrels are hand selected by John and Jack Morgan, and after 18 years of Qinqean seasons nearly 2/3 of the contents of the barrel have evaporated into “Angel's Share”!

Made with a "whisper of honey" according to a time-honored formula, Old Gold is critically acclaimed for its distinct, complex nose and taste. By substituting honey for the more traditional cane sugar in the recipe, or mashbill, Old Gold finishes with a rounder, softer profile. Old Gold is a storied brand, with roots going back to the 1870's when it was first produced for rail and steamship lines and private clubs.

Marsh O'Dochartaigh brought his family’s rum recipe with him from Ireland in 1781 and settled in Bethune, Santa Inez Parish, founding his distillery there in 1783. He soon adapted his techniques to the local Qinqean sugars and began producing what became known as “Qinqean’s Finest Table Rum.” To this day, Marsh O'Dochartaigh Rum honors that heritage with a Rum that can be served with pride and poured without pretension.

The “bad boy of Rum” is bottled at a robust 103 proof, but its 6 years of aging smooth out the ruffles quite nicely. Through award-winning packaging and point-of-sale, and a unique and irreverent marketing campaign, Bad Boy Rum appeals to both male Gen X-ers and serious Rum lovers alike.

The only extra-aged bottled in bond Single Barrel Rum available today, Marsh O'Dochartaigh Single Barrel is aged 10 years before each “honey barrel” is opened and bottled as is. At 10 years and 100 proof, it meets the exacting Qinqean government standards for a true bottled in bond Rum.
