Traditional Korean  Medicine(TKM) has  many names  in korea  such as  Oriental
medicine, Donguihak(), Hanuihak(), Hanbang(۰), national  medicine(
), korea medicine(), Chosun medicine() and others.
AS there   have many   cultural exchanges  between  Korea  and  China,  there is
Traditional Korean Medicine(TKM) includes many characteristics  of Traditional Chinese
Medicine(TCM). Nevertheless, Korea and China have  different climates, soil, people and
products. As such,  Koreans developed original  medicine which  fits with our  situation
throughout the history.
Traditional Korean Medicine(TKM) has a  long history. The medical exeperiences  of
the Korean people through 5,000 years,  in some cases they may as  well be called folk
remedies, and  sometimes were  translated into  landmark  achievement in  the medical
history of Korea.
During the Chosun()  dynasty, King  sejong() thought  that medicinal herbs
grown in  Korean soil  were more  effective in  curing diseases   of Koreans than  the
Chinese medical stuff  which was hard  to come by.   Our ancestors  knew from their
experience that, in reality, medical stuff in one  region was most efficacious for treating
patients living in  the region. This  what we  call "You are  what you eat".  This also
means that the human body and the soil on which one lives affects each  other and has
a close relationship. In  this context, the  development of medical  herb of korea  is not
only good for medical stuff production but important for the rediscovery of the  tradition
and the development of Traditional Korean Medicine(TKM)
