This Temple and Palace compound was built just over 200 years ago. It is no longer the residence of King, who lives in a newer palace in Bangkok, but the roughly 700 year old Emerald Buddah, which is not emerald but jade, still resides in the Temple. I had to take the picture (below) of the 70 centimetre statue from outside the temple, as no cameras are allowed inside. It's a very beautiful complex and very popular with tourists, two of whom appear below!
