Old Custodians Never Die

Across town at Catalina High School, a school ghost of another variety was reported in the early 1980s. this wasnt a lost young woman but a school custodian who had died a decade before, but nevertheless returned on occasion to help out with cleaning chores.
The mans name was Martin Valencia, a faithful worker who admonished less-than-honorable colleagues who might try to pilfer item from the home economics room of school kitchen, both his assigned responsibilities. Valencia was so conscientious that cooks would leave out cookies as a treat for him. He shared them with his co-workers but drew the line at allowing them to raid the kitchens refrigerator or snoop through the drawers of the home ec classroom. Valencia suffered a heart attack and died while at his job.
Did valencia remain, in spirit at least, at his high school? Some skepitcs think it was somebody playing tricks, noting particularly the eerie nature of dimly lit school hallways in the middle of the night.
Others are not so sure.
One custodian siad he was positive he saw something while cleaning rest rooms before graduation ceremonies in june 1980. He was in a hallway at a few minutes past midnight when he heard the metal casters of a movable garbage container scudding down the hallway. He could just make out what looked like a man dressed in work clothes about twenty-five feet away, pushing the can along the floor. The custodian thought it was a fellow workers until a little later when he found everyone in the gymnasium setting up chairs for graduation.
Another janitor heard footsteps ascending a ramp close to him. He waited for whoever it was, but no one appeared. Exasperated, he went outside and found the rest of the night crew waiting for him to lock the building.
