STOCK HORSE QUARTERLY : Newsletter is published 4 times a year. Year's subscription is $3.00. Sample issue: $1.00. The news for the American QH Registry & Club (AQHR&C), Model Paint Horse Association (MPHA) and the Model Appaloosa Horse Registry (MAHR) is included in the newsletter.

AD RATES: Ful page: $1.00, Half-page: $.50. Under half: $.25. Photo ads are available. Send SASE for return of ad and/or photo.

REGISTERATION : Open to all model Paint, Appaloosa (Pintaloosa belong in the Appaloosa registry) & Quarter Horses. QH's with TB breeding will be considered an Appendix QH for registeration purposes. Info needed for registeration: Horse's name, age, sex, color/pattern, markings, make, OR or Cust., sire, dam, and your name and address. No registeration fee and no certificate issued. If registering via snail mail, include SASE for return of your numbers or you may submit registerations via email at [email protected] to save time and postage. Horses must be registered in order to earn points.

If registering all 3 breeds, please group all Appaloosas together, all QHs together and all Paints together.

SHOW year is from January 1 st to December 31 st . Horses begin earning points on the date of registeration. No need to send in points. Pointkeeper will automatically tally points upon receipt of full results from all eligible shows. Only monthly shows or AQHR&C benefit shows are eligible for point earning. AQHR&C Benefit shows must be advertised in the Stock Horse Quarterly to be eligible for points. Monthly Point Shows count as 2x points. Benefits will count as 3x points. Championship show will count as 5x points.

CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW : Held in November. To enter the Championship show you must enter at least 3 monthly point shows OR enter monthly point shows and judge 1 monthly show.

MONTHLY POINT SHOW : Each club has its own separate show each month.  FEE: $1.00 a stable. Anyone can judge a show, members and/or non-members. Once copying costs have been deducted from the entry fee, the remainder will be forwarded to the President to go toward year-end awards.

LIFE TIME AWARDS :

 

ROM —Register of Merit – Any horse earning 500 cummulative points in Halter, English Perf, Western Perf, Misc Perf or Overall Perf. Foals need 400 total cummulative points.

AOA —Award of Ability – Any horse earning 1000 cummulative points in Halter, English Perf, Western Perf, Misc Perf or Overall Perf. Foals need 800 total cummulative points.

CHAMPION -- Any horse earning 2000 cummulative points in Halter, English Perf, Western Perf, Misc Perf or Overall Perf. Foals need 1500 total cummulative points.

SUPREME AWARD -- Any horse earning 5000 cummulative points in Halter, English Perf, Western Perf, Misc Perf or Overall Perf. Foals need 2000 total cummulative points.

SUPREME CHAMPION AWARD -- Any horse earning 7500 cummulative points in Halter, English Perf, Western Perf, Misc Perf or Overall Perf. Foals need 3500 total cummulative points.

SUPERIOR AWARD -- Any horse earning 10,000 cummulative points TOTAL! Foals need 2000 total cummulative points. Once the Superior Award has been earned, the horse will then be asked not to compete in the MPHA for a period of 2 years. After 2 years, the horse may once again start showing all over again from scratch.

 

YEARLY AWARDS: Top Tens will be listed in these events: stallion, mare, gelding, colt, filly, bloodstock, overall halter, overall Western Perf., overall English Perf., overall Misc. Perf., overall Perf. And top 25 horses of the year.

 

POINT SCALE:

Extra Points (not to doubled, etc.)

1 st --12 30-40 horses in class add 2 points

2 nd --10 41-50 horses in class add 3 points

3 rd --9 51-60 horses in class add 4 points

4 th —8 61-70 horses in class add 5 points

5 th —7 71-80 horses in class add 6 points

6 th —6 81-90 horses in class add 7 points

7 th —5 91-100 horses in class add 8 points

8 th —4 101-150 horses in class add 9 points

9 th —3 151-200 horses in class add 10 points

10 th —2 201 or more horses in class add 11 points

Grand Champ—100 Example: A horse placed 3 rd in a class of 55

Reserve Grand—75 horses at the monthly point show:

Overall Halter/Perf Champ—60 8 x 2 = 16 + 4 = 20

Overall Halter/Perf Reserve—50 Horse earns 20 points for that class.

Sex/Breed/Color/Etc. Champ—25

Sex/Breed/Color/Etc Reserve—15
