Brock the Fierce, Human Mercenary         Character Sheet

No, Im not mad. When Im mad, I break people, not tables...

Brock grew up in a small fishing village on the coast of the Telurian Sea. Since an
early age, he was known for his mean temper, and earned the name Brock the Fierce when
he was only ten. Brock worked with his family, fishing and trading the routes across the
Telurian, but always dreamed of joining the Imperial Legions and becoming a famous
general.
Brock did indeed leave home to join the Legion when he reached his eighteenth
year. Though it had been his lifelong ambition to serve the Empire, military life was not
quite what Brock expected.
Needless to say, Brock never quite made it to General. He was, for a short time,
however, a Sergeant. Brock spent eight years faithfully fighting the Emperors battles,
eventually transferring to the Scout Company of his Legion. During one of his scouting
missions, Brock and his squad came across a Grolluck raiding party of twenty men. The
squad found itself in fight to the death. The surviving members of Brocks ten-man unit,
(three were lost) credited him with saving the day. It seems that Brocks ferocity was just
a bit much for the Grollucks, who were expecting an easy fight. After Brock split the lead
Grollucks head, the remaining nine were routed.
Brock kept the fine tunic of chain-mail worn by the leader of the Grolluck party.
He had suspected, for some reason, that the armor was magic. If nothing else, it was really
light. This was confirmed later by the Legions Mage, who also informed Brock that he
had the ability to learn magic spells. Brock scoffed at this idea, but thanked the Mage for
his information nonetheless.
Shortly afterwards, Brocks temper brought a premature end to his military career.
While on leave in a small border town, Brock got into an argument with his Captain.
Though neither man could clearly remember the reason for the fight, it ended with the
Captain taking a trip to the Legions Mage for some serious healing. Thanks to Brocks
heroic actions, and the fact that the Captain actually felt bad about the incident, Brock was
simply discharged rather than sentenced to a year of hard labor, the usual penalty for
assaulting an officer.
Brock left the Legion the next day. He used his discharge allowance to gather
some supplies and headed for Tor-Beldrin. He had never been to the Capital before, and
figured he should be able to find some work there. While sitting in the Four Dogs Tavern
on his first night in the city, Brock made the aquantance of Alstair Sparkdale. The two
became friends and have adventured together ever since. Alstair even proved the Mages
words by teaching Brock a few simple spells. Who knew?
