25th QCBA JUNIORS NATIONAL OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS
RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. OBJECTIVE, ORGANIZATION AND SANCTION
This National Open Championship is organized by the Quezon City Bowling Association – Junior Division to foster and promote goodwill, friendship and sportsmanship among junior bowlers. PBC and FIQ playing rules shall apply on matters not covered by these rules and regulations.
2. ELIGIBILITY
All Bowlers born on January 1, 1979 to December 31, 1996. All participants must be members of good standing in their respective associations or bowling clubs.
3. CLASSIFICATION
All bowlers who are 22 years plus 364 days on January 1, 2002 are eligible to join this tournament. This tournament will have three divisions.
4. REGISTRATION OF ENTRIES
Registration of entries, duly accomplished with corresponding payments, will be accepted at GreenLanes Bowling Center, San Juan. Entries will be accepted, subject to the availability of slots. The tournament committee reserves the right to accept or reject an entry, postpone and add/cancel any squad time.
5. REFUND
No refund shall be made after an entry has been registered. In cases where participants do not show up for their scheduled time squads, all fees for this particular entry shall automatically be forfeited.
6. BOWLING BALLS
Only legal bowling balls are to be used during the tournament. (legal, meaning that the side weight and finger weight must not exceed 1 oz. And the top weight not more than 3 oz.). Use of illegal ball will disqualify the person from the tournament and forfeit whatever awards he/she has garnered.
Eating and drinking are strictly prohibited inside the bowler’s area. Smoking and drinking of alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited during the entire duration of the tournament. The playing area is strictly for players only. Coaches are to stay at the back of the bowler’s area (away from the bowler’s pit).
8. CHECK-IN TIME
All participants must check-in at the registration committee thirty (30) minutes before the scheduled squad time. Center time shall be the official time of the tournament.
9. UNIFORMS
All bowlers must wear uniforms reflective of their organizations, association, sponsor or club.
10. FOULS
If the automatic foul device is operational, it will be used to determine the foul committed and no appeal shall be entertained unless they could clearly prove that the device is malfunctioning.
11. ALL EVENTS (BOYS & GIRLS DIVISION)
This event consists of 12 games (team, singles, doubles). The bowler with the highest cumulative score (pinfall) shall be declared the champion, the bowler with the next highest cumulative score (pinfall) shall be 1st runner up and the bowler with the third highest cumulative score (pinfall) shall be 2nd runner up.
SINGLES EVENT ( BOYS & GIRLS DIVISION)
This event will consist of 4 games with lane change every game. The bowler with the highest total pinfall shall be declared the champion, the bowler with the next highest total pinfall shall be 1st runner-up and the bowler with the third highest total pinfall shall be 2nd runner-up.
DOUBLES EVENT (MIXED)
This event will consist of 4 games with lane change every game. The pair with the highest total pinfall shall be declared the champion, the pair with the next highest total pinfall shall be 1st runner-up and the pair with the third highest total pinfall shall be 2nd runner-up.
TEAM EVENT (MIXED)
This event will consist of 4 games with lane change every game. The team with the highest total pinfall shall be declared the champion, the team with the next highest total pinfall shall be 1st runner-up and the team with the third highest total pinfall shall be 2nd runner-up.
MASTERS EVENT (BOYS & GIRLS DIVISION)
COLLEGIATE MASTERS EVENT - Bowlers whose classification falls within the Collegiate Division may participate in this event. The ALL EVENTS score of each bowler shall count as the qualifying series for this event. Top twelve(12) bowlers [BOYS] and top eight (8) bowlers [GIRLS].
MAJOR/JUNIOR MASTERS EVENT - Bowlers whose classification falls within the Major/Junior Division may participate in this event. The ALL EVENTS score of each bowler shall count as the qualifying series for this event. Top twelve(12) bowlers [BOYS] and top eight (8) bowlers [GIRLS]
BANTAM MASTERS EVENT - Bowlers whose classification falls within the Bantam Division may participate in this event. The ALL EVENTS score of each bowler shall count as the qualifying series for this event. Top twelve (12) bowlers [BOYS] and top eight (8) bowlers [GIRLS].
Stage One :
Bowlers will draw their respective lane assignments and will play a three(3) game-series. The top four(4)finishers among the 12 finalist will advance to Stage 3 while the the next 8 finishers will play in Stage 2 .
Stage Two :
The eight (8) bowlers/finishers from the Stage 1, will play a two(2)- game series. Pairing will be as follows:
The winners among the pairing will advance to the next Stage to face the
top four(4) finishers from Stage 1.
Stage Three :
The top four(4)finisher from Stage 1 and the four(4) winners from Stage 2 will play a two(2) game-series. Pairing will be as follows:
Winners between the pairings shall advance to Stage 4.
Stage Four :
The winners from Stage 3 will play a two(2)-game series. Pairing will be as follows:
I) winner of stage 3 match E v. s. winner of match H
J) winner of stage 3 match F v.s. winner of match G
Winners between the pairings shall advance to Stage 5.
Stage Five:
The winner from Stage 4 will play a two(2)-game series. Pairing will be as follows: winner of Stage 4 match I v.s. winner of Stage 4 match J.
The winner between the two after the mandatory 2 games will be declared the Champion of the 2001 QCBA Jrs. Open Championships and the loser as the 1st Runner-up. The 2nd Runner-up will come from Stage 4 (the 3rd highest score).
16. TIE BREAKING PROCEDURES
17. SCORES
The official score sheet must be signed immediately after every game to acknowledge the score. An unsigned score sheet means that the scores shown are right and no protest can be entertained. Any bowler caught tampering with the scores shall be disqualified from the tournament and all awards earned shall be forfeited. Errors in scoring must be immediately corrected upon discovery.
Frames with missing or down pins shall be treated as a good ball once the ball is thrown. Bowlers are not allowed to rerack the pins, only lane men, scorers and tournament officials are allowed to do so.
For a protest to be entertained it must be submitted to the tournament committee within 24 hours after the incident.
Bowlers found to have violated the rules and regulations of the tournament will be immediately be disqualified. Bowlers who show unsportsman like conduct that bowler shall be disqualified from the tournament.
Any bowler who arrives after the first ball has been thrown in his/her respective lane assignment shall be given a zero for that frame. Nevertheless he/she is still allowed to bowl in the other frames that has not been played yet.
22. ABSENCES
No make up games shall be allowed. Schedules will proceed as indicated.

Entry fee is P5,400 per participating team (there shall be four players per participating team).
Fees for the Masters finals for each division for all divisions shall be announced
All Events = Php 400.00 / bowler
Singles = 400.00 / bowler
Doubles = 600.00 / pair
Team = 1200.00 / team
1st : MEDAL + gift item
2nd : MEDAL + gift item
3rd : MEDAL+ gift item

Tournament committee reserves the right to modify/change squad time schedules in the duration of the tournament.
